Think KL's Chinatown, Vientiane's historic center, Bangkok's Khao San district. All full of roastie backpackers. There are also nature retreats and other spots that attract them in droves. Can't say for sure, as my journey rarely intersects with the hordes of tourists that tourists are always complaining about.

Younger people travel with their friends or as a couple and rarely leave the high-energy backpacking destinations. Every now and then I'll see a young backpacking couple venturing off the beaten path, but out of 100 backpacking kids, 99 of them will be found where the party's at.

Solo white male boomers are much like the younger dorks and pecker players in that they prefer to settle down in a favorite place and live in comfort with their needs attended to by the local women.
