Going down to chico town tomorrow, any advice anons?
I can't give you any, but if you're able to visit the Maya site of Calica/Rancho Ina and can take photos of the La Casa Azul structure as seen in pic related, I'd be willing to pay you money to upload the photos to Wikimedia (same for anybody else who has photos they took)If you're interested, email me at saintseiyasource@gmail.comMore info about Calica: https://lugares.inah.gob.mx/en/zonas-arqueologicas/zonas/1784-calica.html(apparently you need to reserve an appointment in advance to visit the site?)
>>2749945Also, Mexico City rather then Quintana Roo, but:If anybody here was in Mexico City/CDMX between 2016 and 2020, possibly even between 2012 to 2022, and visited the Hotel Catedral or elsewhere on Republica de Guatemala street and managed to take photos of the Ehecatl-Quetzalcoatl temple as it was being excavated (especially from above as seen here from the balcony at the Hotel Catedral), please email me about that and I'd likewise be willing to pay

>>2749900dont drive into small towns unless you want to be followed by armed autodefensas on bikes. if you do, don't stop the car.i did a round trip a few years ago. tulum generally overhyped but the cenotes and the ruins are cool, playa del carmen is only good for nightclubs, cancun is just america, cozumel is ok. the highlight for me was isla holbox, love that island.las coloradas/flamingo sightings are cool, but be careful. me and my friends didn't book in advance (it was impromptu to kill time) and we booked a random tour guide we found. dude ended up pulling a gun and trying to rob us in the middle of the desert, we jumped him and left him there.
