All right, you may have to show proof of available funds and/or proof of a return trip to be admitted, while other more affluent nationalities get these requirements waived. Learning numbers and the names of foods is of high importance if you want to eat like a local - and seamlessly pay local prices to do so. Otherwise, English is the lingua franca for foreigners who do not understand each other's languages. Most people do appreciate foreigners trying to learn their language, so if you want to make friends it is good to learn a few phrases.
