No the novel explains it better that Christine was basically a vehicle (lol) for LeBay's evils and reflected his rage and hubris while installing LeBay's personality and soul into Arnie as he became attached to the car. LeBay just needed Arnie's life force to restore Christine so he could live on after death as an immortal muscle car which is pretty fucking metal desu and slightly less pedophile coded than King's other books.
