What are some good but forgotten sci-fi kinos?
>>214108241Deep Rising
I like this minimal budget movie. But do not watch the trailer since it spoils a central twist.
>>214108396That cover makes it look very cheap
>>214108241I remember also
>>214108655It's alright. High Noon in space
>>214108241by the same director.
>>214109874Pretty comfy, the alien stuff got pretty ridiculous though
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089869/
I wish goddamn fucking normie niggers wouldn't have complained about the extremely based sequel>HURRRRRRRRRR I JOST WONTED MORE POTCH BLOCK HURRRRRRRRRRRRRWe got dangerously based Chronicles of Riddick and then just some kind of fucking remake to Pitch Black thanks to you.
>>214110861This film was good.
>>214108241Was pleasantly surprised by this one and the ending is nice and grim
>>214110717Cuck kino
>>214108241I for one welcome our new ant overlords
>>214111164It was good, the lowkey style reminded me of something like The Andromeda Strain or Phase IV or something like that. See Demon Seed also for some whacky AI hijinks. Gets pretty fucking bizarre.
>>214108241The Sphere>>214108396Is this the one where they fight a sea monster and in the end a man and a woman end up in an inflatable lifeboat in the middle of the ocean?
>>214110991>I wish goddamn fucking normie niggers wouldn't have complained about the extremely based sequel>>HURRRRRRRRRR I JOST WONTED MORE POTCH BLOCK HURRRRRRRRRRRRR>We got dangerously based Chronicles of Riddick and then just some kind of fucking remake to Pitch Black thanks to you. This is how I feel about Banjo Kazooie and Tooie.
>>214111479I don't think so.It's the one where tentacles digest you alive. They also ended up in an island with yet another monster. But it has been years since I've watched it.
K-PAX
Deep sea kino
bump
>>214108396This is certified (by me) kino
>>214110991Chronicles sucks. Its literally capeshit.
I watched this film nearly 20 years ago but always remembered the scene where some dude gets his heart ripped out by the killer robot.
>>214113111The premise and effects are 10/10, execution is a bit shit
>>214111079hmmm thanks for reminding me about this one. It's probably been 10 or 15 years but I'm gonna watch it again right now.
The similarities between this and I, Robot are enough I'm still surprised neither studio tried to sue the other.
>>214108241Red planet
>>214113098This was my favourite movie as a kid
>>214111815>three people make it out alive to the ending>have the monster surprise show up to kill off the black man
>>214114956so many disgusting fat dudes inhabiting surrogates of hot chicks and fucking each other
>>214117199It has every possible trope but it's still kino. In the end you just know the monster is gonna pop back up. Also when Peter Weller punches the corporate twat in the face I stood up and pointed at the screen and screamed KINO
>>214117282>Sixpack: Oh, mama! What a pair.>Bridget: What'd you say?>Sixpack: I said, "What a pair." Our shack boss and his washed-up doctor buddy make quite a... What did you think I said?>Bridget: That you liked my boobs.>Sixpack: Ha.
>>214108241Event Horizon
>>214117317That's quite a nice pair of mammalian protuberances.
Are these really forgotten? Because I've seen almost all of them.
>>214117427Because you are a nerd.
eXistenZ was the weirdest fucking movie
>>214108655
>>214108655>>214118291
>>214118291I like Outland. It fits with the styling of Alien and Blade Runner
>this is what you want>this is what you get>this is what you want>this is what you get>this is what you want>this is what you get>this is what you want>this is what you get
Cool apocalyptic bunker bats survival thriller
>>214118497Sounds cool thanks
>>214118497batman's origin story
>>214118321In reality, you wouldn't blow up like that in when exposed to space. This usually only happens when people switch from extremely high pressure to low pressure, but 1 atmosphere is simply not enough for that kind of damage.
>>214108655movie is kind of boring but simultaneously has one of my all time favourite scenes
>>214118766It's a good example of how storyboarding and pacing in film-making has changed for the worse. I think "boring" is a harsh description but it gives events room to breath rather than assailing the viewer with constant progress. There's a sequence of him just running through the facility, otherwise basically nothing happening, just a minute or two of Connery running through frames selected from their set. They didn't have the striking cinematography to truly keep it engaging but they were in the right direction.
Sixth Day seems pretty forgotten
>>214111479Deep Rising's set on a cruise ship infested with tentacles (parts of a big creature), male and female leads escape on a jetski at the end and wash up on a desert island for a cliffhanger.
>>214119158Jungle island. Wish there was a sequel
>>214108241
>>214111625It's a remarkably strange movie but I like it. Secretly a drama hidden in sci-fi that is done with mild comedy and yet a bunch of interesting camera stuff.
