I appreciate that they set up that Matt Damon's character just constantly nattered to himself, but I would have enjoyed the movie if it was comfortable with long stretches of silence when it cuts to robinson crusoe on mars but this time without an alien monkey pal.
>>
/tv/ hates this movie because the main character is a smart self assured giga chad.
>>
>>214116874
This is the ultimate dad movie. Mine has to watch it like every month.
>>
>>214118436
Which is why Matt Damon isn't believable in the role.
>>
>>214118436
/tv/ hates this movie, because dozens of people have died already trying to bring Matt Damon home and he keeps getting lost.
>>

that

it bums me out that I will never see a human on Mars in my lifetime

I don't remember that. I remember his whole team dying in the beginning from the Mars storm. I don't remember a single person dying, while trying to rescue him.

Is this actually good i keep getting it recommended, “multiverse” movies make me cringe though
>>
>>214120220
Watch it and judge for yourself.
>>
>>214120134
This is the only actual "reddit" movie out there.
>>
>>214116874
Ah you mean the demographic that fucking LOVES le fucking SCIENCE that also denies biological sex exists? That one?
>>
>>214120134
This really is THE reddit movie. I gag every time I'm scrolling a streaming site and see the thumbnail for this self indulgent piece of shit

If you're a redditor that loves Asian representation in films and a sucker for heart wrenching family drama beats that hit with the subtlety of a Ford F150 tire obliterating the skull of a racoon on a backwoods Kentucky road then you'll LOVE LOVE LOVE this film
If you enjoy good films then I wouldn't suggest it

I was stunned when it won best picture when it was essentially Scott Pilgrim fused with Rick and Morty. It's like a /tv/ shitpost come to life.

Yes. It’s good, fun, and made by a bunch of people I respect. Don’t take it too seriously.

Don’t listen to these fags. They got filtered because they get trigger by brown people. The Asian identity plot points in the movie actually contributed to the plot. The movie isn’t Asian representation for the sake of Asian representation you knuckle dragging tard.

You can see it right now. Just watch OP's movie.

That's like complaining that I'll never see a death star or a lightsaber in my lifetime. I can watch Star Wars whenever I want!
>>
>>214120547
It ticked all the boxes for oscar bait and had flashy enough editing to enamor the reddit audience
>>
Not a movie but Buffy the Vampire Slayer is Redditcore as can be but I can’t bring myself to dislike it.

Why? Space colonization will only produce interesting results and experiences for people a few hundred years from now. Even if it happens I can promise you it'll just become soulless corporate expansion but on different planets.
Human space colonies will be downtown LA with a glass dome over the top. Starbucks in space. That's what you're looking forward to
>>
At the time it felt like propaganda for Elon Musk, and that was a legitimate reason to dislike it. Still is. Maybe even more so now.

watched this the other day bc of nostalgia but found myself mildly annoyed at the quirkiness
