20+ years later, it's the GOAT time travel movie and it's not even close
>>
i like how schizo the movie makes me feel when theres a doppelganger of him running around but they never run into each other
>>
It's a great movie to watch on shrooms
>>
>>214118333
For me I don't like to think that much so it's looper.
This time travel crap, fry your brain like an egg
>>
I failed to understand me. Too complex for me.
>>
>>214118333
this is a movie where i can get it and then go "woaah aahhh of course" after some research and then i completely forgot it again when i try to recall it again because its too much
>>
The butterfly effect is pretty good.
>>
This is one of my favorite movies, simply because it embodies a kind of feeling of uncertainty and mystique. I didn't think much the first time I saw it beyond the plotting being too complex to follow but the sensation of the movie stuck, there's something there that actually loops back, I think it's made to evocate that sensation of going back to the past betond replicating surface level aspect of it

wrong film
>>

I'm an avowed, lifetime hater of time travel in cinema so I've never watched this, but over the years this is the one film that I keep hearing does time travel well.
Still won't watch it out of principle
>>
>>214120048
that's your prerogative
>>
>>214118333
Time travel movies are exceedingly dishonest. It's impossible for them to be kino.
>>
>>214120447
Primer is the most honest film ever made, retard.
>>
>>214120447
I'm not sure it's that literal. I think it's equally as much about regret, the desire to do things over and what linearity even is in the context of a story or your memory (same thing)
Not sure where the dishonesty lies
>>
>>214120417
i respect your spite but how can you call yourself a true hater if you havent seen the best of that which you hate?
>>
Too bad Shane TKOd that woman, easily one of the best living directors
>>
I like the trope of time travel already happened several times when the movie begins
>>
>>214120338
I really enjoyed reading the Wikipedia for this :)
>>
Great movie ruined by the ending
>"You are jealous of muh wife and kid!"
This was so out of fucking nowhere. At no point in the movie did the single guy show any desire of being jealous of the married guys wife and kid. The single guy didn't even really care that another girl liked him, he was only interested in the money that her dad had.

name several kinos

Amy Seimetz could be here" he thought, "I've been in this neighborhood before. She could be here right now." The cool wind felt good against his bare chest. "I HATE WOMEN"" he thought. Smack My Bitch Up reverberated his entire car, making it pulsate even as the %7.5 gains circulated through his powerful kucoin portfolio and washed away his (merited) fear of life's losses. "As an Uber driver, you can go anywhere you want to assault women" he said to himself, out loud, setting aside a $5000 bail bond in advance.

too based for hollywood. him + gallo would be interesting
>>
12 Monkeys was way better.
>>

Watch Coherence
>>
at first I liked it, but... the whole concept of them fighting over inane shit when they LITERALLY INVENTED TIME TRAVEL, is fucking stupid.
If they are so smart why do they get so caught up fighting amongst themselves.

Wrong, this is.
>>
>>214118686
this, shroom goggles are entirely necessary to hide how fucking retarded the whole movie is
>>
>>214122238
Why did he do it bros? Did the power of being an indie darling auteur go to his head (and his fists)? Did Amy cheat on him with a ufc fighter so he decided to settle things in the octagon?
>>
That bruce willis time movie was good.
The one where he time traveled. Through time.
>>
>>214120067
this is how i feel, when i read an explanation it all makes sense but i forget it as soon as i click off the page because its not interesting enough to remember

>>214122267
yeah 12 monkeys is the goat time travel movie
>>
Reading the Wikipedia synopsis was more interesting and fun than actually watching the movie
I was so bored and disappointed. Technically it's nice and so on, but it's pointless and empty as a movie
>>
>>214123024
Yeah, 12 Monkeys is pretty good.
>>
Too complicated
>>
i liked butterfly effect more than primer desu
>>

>Boring AF
>Awful performances
>Amateur cinematography
Did I mention how boring this POS was?
>>
>>214120338
I've gotta agree.
>>
>>214124288
It's actually a remake of La Jetee, which is the best time-travel movie of all time, because it's always, always, always about a predestination paradox and thus always, always, always just another remake.

Do you consider picrel a time travel movie? Unironically mogs any other time travel movie I've seen. Also was one of the very few times I ever saw my father cry.
>>
>>214124571
I still haven't watched the original. I've been meaning to.
>>
>>214118333
No movie has ever annoyed me like this one. The sound mixing was terrible, there's a scene where you can't hear what they are saying because they are car engines or a water fountain in the background.
From the beginning it was so dumb how they literally invented time travel and they don't care at all, they never show much of any enthusiasm or emotion about this.
This movie is like an Escher painting, pointlessly complex with no heart and soul. It's a no-talent nerd wankfest where the makers of the movie have no common sense or taste concerning what makes a movie good. The movie is so stale and joyless.
I had to read an academic paper to understand wtf was going on and it was still confusing.
