It bothers me a little bit that mammals this big co-existed with t-rexes and other dinosaurs over sixty million years ago but the scientists in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World only bother recreating reptiles and giant insect/locust/dragonfly things.

This only bothers me because I really, really, really wanna’ see Isabella Sermon get chased down and throatfucked by one of the cloned animals, though.

Scientists genetically engineered birds to be featureless so that they would feel pain under the sun and not escape their enclosure. This is animal abuse.

Those aren't velocitaptors. Anyways it doesn't matter, multiple conversations between wu and hammond describe in detail the fact that every dinosaur at jurassic park was nothing more than a genetic abomination. Something created solely to appeal to what the untrained rube thinks a dinosaur should look like.

The dinosaurs ruled the Earth for 180 million years. During that time, ONE particular lineage out of thousands developed feathers and eventually turned into birds. Most dinosaurs didn't have any feathers.

Responsible bird owners frequently lament the regularity with which new, first-time bird owners keep the birds for a year or so and then just abandon them once the novelty wears off. They have a point, but when you watch the youtube videos I'm thinking of, it becomes clearer that keeping certain birds (some parrots, especially Macaws, Cockatoos etc) is a hobby for the upper middle class.

I had parakeets as a kid and they were horrible pets. They would peck you if you tried to touch them and always end up flying into the walls whenever they were let out of the cage.
>>
>>214124392

It sounds to me like you had some real Horrors on your hands. Absolute Legends, even. Eric really picks on daddy too much (the bird really is an asshole but it's an older couple and they have a certain patience with him)

Correct, the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park are modeled after Deinonychus and are a reasonably accurate representation of what scientists thought Deinonychus was like at the time.

When Crichton wrote the book, an archeologist was advocating for including Deinonychus in the Velociraptor genus - meaning that Deinonychus would be a type of Velociraptor - and Crichton read and was influenced by these arguments. It's also thought that Crichton just thought Velociraptor was a cooler word than Deinonychus, which it is. When they made the movies, they continued calling them Velociraptors for continuity with the books and again, because it just sounds cooler.

The filmmakers knew their science. That closeup of the raptors turning the kitchen door latch was a topic of debate on set because this action requires a radius/ulna pair missing in birds and reptiles and even THEN they were saying "we know, it's artistic license, fuck off"
