>>

>In the Heat of the Night theme starts playing
maximum comfy

diagnosis murder is really strange because its trying to be funny and lighthearted but people are being murdered constantly. dick van dyke is like such a jolly old man in this show

I will always believe his episode of Columbo inspired him to produce this show

I for me, it's Midsommer Murders (until the showrunner gets fired for refusing to cast infinite jiggaboos).

fuck I miss them so much bros

the absolute current state of the procedural is so grim. i caught an episode of svu in the hotel and its psychotic now
>>
>>214130999
It would be so fun to make a procedural with your son.
>>

feels like those shows have cut corners so much they're barely running on fumes, like there's just one scriptwriter left who's been there for 20 years and he occasionally gets input from some zoomer casual employee who only works there for two weeks before moving on.

OG Midsomer was so fucking good, it's awful the way it limps on

>house
>midsomer murders

>homicide life on the street (does this count?)
>scooby doo mystery inc

monk slipped my mind honestly, its great too
>>
>>214131931
one thing you notice specifically when watching older ones is how many fucking extras they have. every scene is packed. modern shows have 0 extras and they all look like they're in purgatory
>>

There were exactly two shows that were worse than this shit:
1. Burke's law, where a millionaire decides to solve crime because he's rich and bored.

2. Lucifer, where the dark lord of Hell is bored with Hell, so he decides to come to the mortal world and be a cop who solves crime.

Castle was good too desu imo

>U GOT TRIPS BRO?
>HE GOT TRIPS SON.

Imagine that you're 74 years old and your dad is still alive. I really, really hope Barry doesn't go first because I bet that'd bury Dick in no time. He turns 100 this December!

>>214132869
The other thing was guests stars. Every season had pleasant surprises, mostly in form of (former) stars of other known TV shows or simply industry veterans whose face was familiar to everybody.
>>
its very weird how all the surgeons are also solving crime
