What are your main qualms about the mcu Spider-Man?
>>
>>214147060
>Spider-Man
Iron-Boy
>>
>>214147060
Too tied up with Ironman and the rest of the MCU. The solo bits are actually ok. I liked the third movie, not because of the nostalgia bait, but because other than Strange, it was detached from the rest of the MCU.
>>
Tom Holland comes off like a gay robot that is kept in storage when it isn’t being paraded in public
>>
>>214147060
I don't have any. But I've never been a huge spider man fan so I don't really care what they do with the character.
>>
>>214147060
>ignores Uncle Ben
>young Aunt May
>no money troubles
>Flash is a dweeb and not a bully
>less social problems
>too comedic
>too much Iron Man
>too many gadgets
I mean it is quite telling that to get Peter to some Peter level they literally had to do a Dr Strange spell. This is pretty much the MCU's Brand New Day level retardation although in comics that ruined things for Peter where as in the films it may have actually made Peter Spider-Man. I get why they wanted to differentiate this Spider-Man from the previous ones but all this stuff was too much.

english actors cant play american heroes. cavill had this problem too.

They've gradually made Spider-Man shorter, from about 6ft to 5'4.
They've gradually made Spider-Man's voice weaker, more boyish. He used to have a more masculine voice ala the og cartoons
They've gradually stripped away the interesting parts about him, his selfishness, his attitude, his sense of humor, his standoffishness
they've gradually ruined the relationships he's had with all 4 of his love interests, Betty, Mary Jane, Gwen, Black Cat.
They've gradually stopped presenting him with a muscularity expected from a man
They've gradually stopped presenting Spider-Man as a man
this infantilization of masculinity and young men has infected just about every corner of life btw.

Nigger he was 5’10
>>
>>214147060
Iron boy Jr.
>>
>>214148160
Romita Sr. drew him at eye level with Captain America, who was 6'2
>>

I don't hop on /tv/ bandwagons just to fit in so I have absolutely no issue with Holland or Zendaya (who I find REALLY cute in these movies) and really find the MCU Spidermans to be quaint and comfy.

No Way Home is certified kino IF you ignore that Tobey Maguire is phoning it in hard.

Not enough scenes of Rice slutting it up. Also she should be Gwen instead of Betty.

I enjoy them all except ffh

I never bandwagoned, I just genuinely hated those first two movies. I thought they were bad adaptations.
>>
I think teaming up with the OG Spidey's did a lot for his credibility as the character. Tom owes Tobey a blowjob at least.

Beyond that, the diverse cast is hella ugly. I thought Mysterio was great until the *spoiler* reveal.

he has three movies and they all feel like episodes in a tv show not cinematic events. He only has like 2 villains of his own, vulture and Mysterio, and now they dont even count because everyone forgot about him cus of doctor strange. Its all extremely poorly conceived, and the 'MJ' girl is and yet is not MaryJane, none of his supporting cast are from the comics, its kinda annoying. I think the second one is the best because it feels the most like hes his own man and hero in it and mysterio was a good villain.
>>
>Mr. Negative
Is this guy any good? Sounds like Black Mask rip off.
>>
Shit supporting cast, literally nothing memorable about them.
Only one good original villain[Goblin doesn't count].
Too tied to Iron Man.
Doesn't feel as connected to New York City.
Worst of all a shit Spiderman.
>>
>>214148134
Garfield was closest to ditko spider man of all the on screen spider men.

>in the films it may have actually made Peter Spider-Man
The problem I have with this is it didn't just reset people's memory to before they knew he was Spider-Man, they reset everyone's memory of Peter himself and killed Aunt May, totally uprooting the civilian identity that is half of Spider-Man's whole thing. There's absolutely nothing left of Peter Parker currently, which only makes me fear he'll be sucked even deeper into MCU crossover bullshit since the only identity he has left is the mask. Obviously they'll have him rebuild the Peter identity, but some key players have been removed from his story.
>>
>>214150738
they already announced ruffalo hulk and punisher in the movie alongside 4 fodder villains
>>
>>214147060
Not enough nudity
>>
They put this hideous abomination, instead of a real red haired white girl.
She can never compete with the other girls.
>>
>>214147060
He's just white Miles rather than Peter Parker. Doesn't look the part or have the right voice either.
>>

Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen was elite but I didn't mind Emma Stone as Gwen either.
>>
>>214151170
>elite
no she wasn't she was just hot that's it
>>
>>214147060
weak supporting cast
>>
>>214147060
The Raimi movies establish his motivations in the movie in which they’re presented. The MCU movies establish his motivation in previous MCU entries. Peter was the little boy in Iron Man 2 wearing the Iron Man Halloween mask so when Iron Man recruits him in Captain America Civil War that’s why he cares who he is. In Spider-Man Homecoming he really cares about Iron Man’s approval but if you hadn’t seen the two aforementioned movies you have no idea why. Spider-Man gets “blipped” in Avengers Infinity War and resurrected in Avengers Endgame but if you didn’t see either of those then you don’t know what’s going on in Spider-Man Far From Home. The result is it feels less like a stand alone movie and more like a tv series you missed crucial episodes of

>>214147060
>Relies too heavily on other characters to fill in the blanks of his or his villains stories like iron man or the two spidey’s in NWH
>Genuinely awful high school cast. None of them are really characters I want in the movie for a prolonged period. The Raimi & even Webb’s films had interesting supporting cast members
>Don’t like the cgi suit (of the first couple movies at least)
>A solid half of the trilogy took place outside New York
>>
>>214147060
You mean Iron Man’s sidekick?
>>
>>214150462
You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like
>>
The fact that there's an MCU to begin with

Maguires Spider-Man was better because he was the only hero
>>
>>214152394
>Peter was the little boy in Iron Man 2 wearing the Iron Man Halloween mask so when Iron Man recruits him in Captain America Civil War that’s why he cares who he is.
That’s retarded and I don’t even believe you.
>>
He would look better on HRT
Not even sure which direction, if he either took a bunch of testosterone or a bunch of estrogen, he'd wind up looking better than he does now
>>
>>214147060
Overall I liked them and I think Holland is pretty good at it. Like others have said I think it's just too heavily connected to the MCU.

i don't really have any, and i'm really excited to see what his dynamic with Frank Castle will be like. i wish they could do a VENOM storyline with him, and some other symbiote and Spider-Verse stuff. i'd like to see Black Cat eventually. fucking Sony is my biggest Spider-Man gripe in-general.
>>
>>214147060
I don't want to watch the mcu I want to watch Spider-man
I don't want iron man or dr.strange, I want to see Spider-man fightning his vilain
And I want him to be so fucking poor, always tired due to being a superhero+a student+a worker+taking care of his old sick aunt+being alone since he can't tell his secret to anybody
>>
>>214152394
>>214153149
Peter wasn't in Iron Man 2. In an interview, Tom Holland said that he talked to Feige and Feige confirmed it. Another publication asked him for clarification to confirm, and then Holland admitted he made it up because he thought it'd be a good story. Media only ran with the original story and never posted about the truth because they either didn't care or knew it wouldn't get clicks.
>>
>>214147060
Don't really have any. Not spending 5hrs on the exact same origin muh ben storybeat was the right choice though. Capeshit that's had several origin movies don't need another every time there's a refresh.
>>
So what do I need to watch before I watch the second Spider-man? I started watching it and they began talking about the snap, which I haven't seen yet. So to watch the second Spider-man, I need to watch all of the Avengers?

all you're missing for context is Spider-Man befriending the Avengers in Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame.
