the reason Dukat cared about Ziyal so much more than any of his other family is because he literally was going to FUCKING KILL HER for selfish reasons, and she KNEW that and even still she still forgave him and fell in love with him as a person. I have also purposefully omitted certain season 1 episodes, like The Last Outpost (which introduces the Ferengi, but isn't that sort of introduction actually harmful?), Skin of Evil (sure, they kill Tasha Yar there, but do we actually need to see her death? As for SNW, you can just begins at the beginning—it starts off strong. I powered through the first 2 seasons of DIS and was thoroughly unimpressed, so you can skip that with my blessing. I tried, but couldn't get into VOY, ENT, or DS9, so feel free to skip those too.
