It's a good film but some of the plot points needed more explanation. Wallace says he wants to find Rachel's child, the genetic key to replicant breeding, because, he says, "I can only make so many." But why is that? Why is there a limit on the amount of replicants he can make? This should have been clarified.

David Bowie was the original intent and he would have lent the character much needed gravitas (although there was risk it would've felt too much like his role in Prestige). I hated the original Blade Runner and liked 2049. Also it slays on my home theater.Maybe because I originally watched the directors cut which doesn't even have an opening crawl and so the movie doesn't make a ton of sense and it's just a guy hunting regular looking people down for some reason. There's so much more the sequel does to set clear boundaries between what the replicants are compared to humans.
