What's the worst film adaptation ever made?
>>214170270Bro you are cheating by posting that, like give people a chance to form a discussion or something before you just jump in and post the objectively correct answer.
I've come around to this movie, ignoring all the terrible Jake shit with his mom.
Was this an adaptation? I thought it was a sequel to the incredibly long and dragged out book series and not an adaptation.
>>214170270>>214171135>>214171207>>214171314
>>214170270>Adapting a 6/7 book series where almost every book is +600 pages and turn it into a 90 min movie
>>214170270Are we finally allowed to talk shit about it?You absolutely were not allowed to when it released. Any criticism was met with "UR LE RACIST INCEL!!"
>>214171418What are you talking about? Even racists like Idiris Elba.
This was good
>>214171366Reboot when? >Zendaya: So, hot-shot you want to fight Ms. Buu? >Henry: Waku waku? *Kage Bunshin no Jutsu* No, I wanna rape you. BIG GANG BANG ATTACK!
>>214171314It was a sequel but you had to be a no-life nerd that had read all 8 books to understand WHY it was a sequel and not an adaptation. And it all boiled down to "Ahh, Roland is carrying a prop that looks like a horn, that explains everything!"
Jungle Book (2016)Poor adaptation of the animated movie, even worse adaptation of the book. Completely misses the entire goddamned point of the story with its "ha ha we subverted your expectations, aren't we clever" ending where Mowgli burns down the entire jungle and then decides he actually belongs there instead of with Man.
>>214172597Horn of Arthur Eld, meant to indicate to anybody that read the books that it is the sequel to the 7th book.I ain't ever heard of no eighth book, but I do admit, it is completely terrible compared to the books. If I had it my way, I'd direct a Netflix series about the dark tower, with every book being a season. Then we'd get the real story. But Stephen King and Hollywood insist that nobody new come onto the scene, nor are they interested in subsidizing such works. All to industry, all to the Crimson King, who conquers the world on the budget plan.
>>214172597The ending was a retarded cop-out to begin with because Stephen King doesn't know how to end a story.
>>214172884Who would you cast as the black lady who talks like buckwheat and has no legs?
>>214170270I think you posted it, OP.
>>214172971How old was Odetta/Detta/Susannah supposed to be, again? Maybe Zoe Saldana could work - obviously cast myself as Eddie.
>>214172971
>>214172884It's not an "eight book" per se. It's a novella set between Wizard and Glass and Wolves of Calla, it's called The Wind Through the Keyhole. It's ok.
>>214170270The dreamcatcher. It's also the worst movie I've ever seen overall.
>>214173341It was a crappy book to begin with.
>>214172971Anybody with this look, to be honest.
>>214173379he wrote it while he was recovering from being hit by a car so it's not surprising
>>214173593Guy should've backed up to make sure.
World War Z isn't the worst zombie movie if viewed as it's own stand alone IP. Yet as an adaptation it's terrible. Being they basically ignore the book's content and just use the title. It should have been a short run cable series.Except now we are a decade+ into endless zombie shit and spins offs of spin offs from Walking Dead etc. So the last thing we need is oh look, another zombie series. All book adaptions are some level of a monkey paw wish being granted. Like yaaa a film/show but something is always off....
>>214173593Maybe don't try to write a novel while you're doped up on painkillers.
>>214170270I know I watched that movie but I can't remember a single scene
>>214172627That's the one directed by Andy Serkis, right? He's a notorious shit director
>>214173898WWZ is legit and confirmed straight up Zionist propaganda
>>214174346No, it's the one directed by Jon Favreau
>>214174188Same.I literally cannot remember anything from it.
>im sorry sweetheart but the man i replaced your dad with wants you out and I just can't help but spread my slit for money and stability even if it means sacrificing my childWomen lmao
STEPHEN KING LOOK OUT!
>>214170270I haven't seen it yet, but don't get it. Matthew McConaughey as Roland seems kinda perfect, what with his Western drawl and all. And Idris Elba, a black man, playing the literal Man In Black seems a bit too on the nose, but he's charasmatic and naturally terrifying enough to make that work too. With such stellar casting, why didn't this movie adaptation of King's magnum opus succeed?
>>214173341AH come on it has its moments
>>214175762Dudditz looking like Dana Carvey from Master of Disguise was something I always got a kick out of.
