I have a love-hate relationship with season 7.It started out pretty good. First five or so episodes were actually tense, felt like Dexter's world is crashing down all around him. Sirko was a pretty nice villain and it was refreshing that he figured Dexter out pretty early and Dexter was on the receiving end of being hunted by an extremely dangerous and skilled killer. (Don't even care that he was gay, he felt closer to Julian from The Shield than modern-day "please pat me on the back for being so progressive" types of gay characters)The show felt like it was actually good again.Then something switched in the writers. It becomes a cringy soap opera about how much Dexter loves Hannah and all the other interesting plot points get resolved in very unsatisfying ways. The drop in quality was just jarring. At least seasons 6 and 8 are consistently bad.
