It suffers from dumb writing just like Alien Earth. For example there was a line in an earlier episode where they called Stu Sweet Tooth's minion. I thought wow they are going to make him into minion, that's really clever. He even looks like he could be ex military and could fit the game character if he turns dark or gets slighted by Sweet Tooth. But no, They just have some monster be Minion and not even have a vehicle at all. How is it based on a vehicular combat game where Minion doesn't have a vehicle? Maybe they just didn't have the budget but why don't they use cgi? It also suffers from the vehicular combat scenes having so much live action because they just don't have the budget for that.

Maybe there's one person who tells them a little about it enough to bait people into watching it with the references. The nostalgia bait is over the top, especially with the music. Remember this 90s song? They had an entire episode designed explicitly to trigger nostalgia in millennial audiences. They probably blew all the budget on the music licenses and had nothing left for the actual vehicular combat scenes.
