I think just bing skeptical because of how many failed attempts to bring him to the big screen. Donner’s Superman 3 was suppose to have Brainiac and Supergirl. Brainiac was originally going to be the villain in MOS but they switched it to Zod. MOS 2 was also going to have Brainiac and Supergirl as well
