>This made boomers pee pee and poo poo their pants
>>214180982Poltergeist is actually a pretty freaky horror movie and the sequels are not bad either. The reboot is also pretty good, has sam rockwell and jared haris and the non slutty but older sharbino sister who is pure sexo in it.Well worth a watch if you havent seen it.Also rosemary dewitt who is a cute milf
>>214181100With all fun and joking aside I’m a child of the late 80s early 90s I used to watch this a lot when it was on HBO , as a child was pretty freaky but after watching Schwarzenegger and Stallone so many times I found it to be boring once the the shock was overI think what made it scary was the use of children as being targets of the haunting primarily in the house
>>214180982Wasn't that thing retconned to be Kane.
>>214181156>haunting primarily in the house>children as being targetsYeah this is what makes it good. It gets a bit wacky in the sequels but they are still pretty good. Not watched them for a while but I watched the OG movie a few years ago and it still holds up.Sequels were them just milking it.Seriously though if you have not seen the reboot its a pretty good retelling of the story in a modern setting.Jared harris plays the part of the fat squeaky voiced clairvoyant but he is a TV show medium etc. They get a paranormal group in. Its pretty well done. Not as good as the original but good on its own merits.
This is probably just me being autistic but my issue with ghost movies is that they stretch my disbelief too farIf you can get a major haunting by just building over people’s graves, then there should be ghosts all over the place in this setting. Old cities like London or Rome should be inundated with ghosts, it should be a well documented phenomenon in their world yet they have to turn to this fringe psychic to deal with it
The house getting sucked inside itself in the finale is one of the greatest Practical-Effects Shots of the 80's.
>>214181511The graves in the movie were1. Slaughtered native Americans2. Moved and dumped unceremoniously in order to make room for land development So it there's a bit more going on there than the average graveyard. In the case of a place like Rome, it probably got built over because no more signs pointed to it existing, and it likely just exists undisturbed under the current city
