People that buy physical media are _______.
>>

dead
>>
>>214190212
Buying everything as physical copies is too costly and impractical but if you want to ensure access to a specific film or a specific version of that film then selective purchases make sense.
>>
>>214190212
I used to buy a couple blu-rays a month for years. This happened when Blockbuster went out of business and you couldn't rent movies anymore. I didn't like Redbox or Netflix rentals. Now everything made is terrible and I think the last brand new bluray i bought was Top Gun Maverick.

wise preservationists.

Short sighted.
The physical media and the hardware required to run it will inevitably age and rot.
Same with video games, storing the file digitally is the best thing you can do for preservation.
>>
>>214190212
They don't actually care about preservation.

Kek, no it fucking won't retard. We literally still have Vinyls, and the LP format was released in fucking 1948.

I bought my 5,600th title the other day (Kind Hearts and Coronets on blu ray)

The topic is best preservation tactics. Filling rooms in your house with media is simply not the best preservation tactic.

I burnt CDs and DVDs from around 05-10, had so many stacks and cases. Then external hard drives fucked my life up

>NOOOOOOOOO NOT MY HECKIN PHYSICAL MEDIA COLLECTION!!! WHY DID I PUT ALL MY DVDS IN ONE PLACE??? I SHOULD HAVE STARTED A DIGITAL MEDIA COLLECTION BUT NOW I HAVE NO FILMS WHATSOEVER!!
>>
>>214190212
The guy on the bottom is a hoarder fixated on movies. I purchase movies but only the ones i rewatch/worth buying. The way things are going I would not be surprised if lots of things get taken down/edited. Like Wallys dawn of the dead rant on niggers and spics or Its always sunny blackface. Its people like Wetmovie1 for example buying random box sets of shit they never watch for a dopeamine hit. The worst though are Retro game collectros. Now thats realy fucking insane. You can get a zip files with every game you want that plays the same for free.

Do people actually pay for their entertainment?
Isn't there more useful things to spend your money on like hookers and hamburgs?
>>
>>214190212
>noooooo you won't take that goyslop pozzed movie away from me
>>
>>214194381
Agreed the depths of retro video game depravity are far deeper than music/movies.
They don't understand that the physical game cartridges are actually aging hardware, e.g. chipsets. Also its insanely expensive and the prices are artificially propped up by youtubers.

Why would bonus discs have their own section and not just be left in their respective releases?

Because he’s a sophisticated adult who organizes everything. One day you might get it when you clean your room and throw out all the empty soda cans and ramen cups

I still have a nice Pioneer LD player, works fine, played Total Recall on it a few months ago
>>
>>214196316
It sucks when the players start to go bad though because it takes a dedicated hobbyist to properly fix them. I have a number of them but they all have some degree of grip ring issues or laser issues. Love LD though.
>>
>>214196165
The cost of renting like 3 DVDs was more than any given streaming service without even considering bullshit like late fees.
I dont miss rental stores.
