it's a hard to swallow pill but max landis always had cool ideas. american ultra was really good.
I loved this movie. It actually criticized the black community and shined them in a negative light. It showed how broken the black community is and how its become a culture of crime and gang violence.

It was actually a film specifically made for the dungeons and dragons fans. If the average viewer spent just a little time looking into DND they would've appreciated it far more. It's actually an old fashioned story but with some grit, I guess to make it more modern.

I love this movie. It's the shadowrun movie I never asked for and never expected to get. The Elf - Jew allegory is obvious, but while both the movie and the people in it all complain about how the elves run the world, and all the bad guys are elves, you also forget the FBI guys are also elves Actually I think the fat one was meant to be a dwarf, but he's too tall and they're the only people in a position of power that do right to the main characters. Them and the mexican sheriff that gets killed. Secret societies do exist, but the government is actually fighting the evil one, and not working with them. The movie really does not paint any race as inherently evil, but just under different socioeconomical circumstances that are a product of their past Orcs are poor and mistreated because they used to serve the dark lord, elves are all in high society because they're all magically inclined. Nature versus nurture. It's all very not subtle, but I do wish we could still believe in this, instead of the extremism that has plagued everyone's minds in the last 6 to 8 years.
