Whatever happened to funny movies? Also, is the remake/reboot any good?
>>214191760Reboot is very unfunny, my cinema which was relatively full only really chuckled at the Bill Cosby joke that's it.
>>214191760It's a mixture of comedians not needing movies anymore to be famous (podcasts) and comedies just not being mega profitable and its harder to sell a comedy that requires a decent knowledge of the English language to foreign countries
>>214191760I liked it and my theater laughed throughout most of it. Half full theater though
>>214192203>harder to sell a comedy that requires a decent knowledge of the English language to foreign countriesIt all depends if the translation/localization is decent enough, we always enjoyed those kind of movies around here back then and the localization wasn't spectacular or anything. Nowadays many prefer watching the original anyways.
Beats me. It was pretty good.
>>214191760Reboot movie was pretty good, would recommend. My theater was actually full which is rare since I live in bumfuck nowhere. I don't think it has much rewatchability though, and you probably won't find it funny at all if you didn't watch the original Naked Gun.

>>214191760You can't be funny anymore. Everyone is a snarky, miserable cunt of a human being and if they aren't then they're easily triggered sensitive pussies.
>>214191760Hollywood mission now is either woke indie-type trash or shitting on beloved IP like this does. Frank Drebin in skirt and panties? GFY.
>>214191760>asking a question about something that releases on digital in a few hoursno
>>214191760>Whatever happened to funny movies?Comedy is "problematic">Also, is the remake/reboot any good?Do you really have to ask that?
>>214191760Studios want movies that will be successful worldwide and comedy is harder to translateI saw the reboot opening weekend in a packed theater and it was the most fun in a theater I've had in as long as I can rememberthe Austin Powers silhouette gag was telegraphed and obvious as hell but people were still pissing themselves laughing over it because of how absurd it kept getting
