What's the best episode? if you say pine barrens you can go back to you know where
>>
the one where the sport store guy gets indebted to the mob through high stakes poker

Cold cuts. The scene where Tony and Steve Buscemi make fun of Christopher is my favourite scene in the entire show..

Broadcaster 1 (play-by-play):
“Good evening, folks! We’re live from North Jersey Stadium where the Soprano Squad takes on… well… themselves. And right off the bat, Jackie Jr. is fumbling the relationship ball—caught red-handed with another player on the roster. Meadow throws the challenge flag, and after instant replay, it’s confirmed: cheating. That’s a turnover, and Jackie Jr. is officially benched.”

Broadcaster 2 (color commentary):
“Yeah, and I gotta say, if heartbreak were a sport, Meadow just set the season record.”

Broadcaster 1:
“Meanwhile, in the heavyweight division, Tony and Gloria are sparring again. It’s a back-and-forth contest—arguments flying, reconciliations right after. Tony checks in with his coach, Dr. Melfi, claiming happiness in the first round but already complaining in the second. Melfi, with some world-class analysis, points out Gloria’s mood swings… and subtly reminds Tony of his mother. That’s what we call a psychological slam dunk!”

Broadcaster 2:
“Tony might not see it, but I’ll tell you what: if denial were a stat, this guy would be MVP.”

I'm not going to say Pine Barrens, College or Whitecaps (which personally I think is the episode people say is the best "due to the performances" so they can appear more intelligent for not watching The Sopranos "for the mob shit." It does have great performances, but I think it's perhaps a little overrated for that reason). Funhouse is a pretty great one. So is In Camelot. My personal favourite though would have to be Kennedy And Heidi.

Broadcaster 1:
“Now, over in the Pine Barrens League, Paulie and Christopher head out to collect from the Russian, Valery. But oh boy, Paulie throws a cheap shot, and suddenly they’re in overtime with a trained commando! They think they’ve scored a knockout—until Valery pops back up like it’s the fourth quarter and he’s got fresh legs. He takes the shovel, jukes right, and breaks free into the woods!”

Broadcaster 2:
“Let’s be honest, this guy makes Houdini look like he played for the junior varsity squad.”

Broadcaster 1:
“Paulie and Chris give chase, firing wildly, but the snow swallows Valery’s tracks. Lost, cold, and starving, they huddle up in an abandoned van. That’s not exactly what you’d call a winning playbook. Eventually, Tony and rookie outdoorsman Bobby arrive for the rescue. But when the dust settles, Valery is gone, the money’s gone, and all they bring home is silence. Except Bobby—he’s just happy he finally got to wear his hunting gear.”

Broadcaster 2 (joke #1):
“Yeah, Bobby came dressed like he was on a camping trip… but between you and me, he couldn’t find a tent in a sporting goods store.”

Broadcaster 1 (joke #2):
“And let’s not forget—Paulie and Chris spent the night in a frozen van. That’s less of a play and more of a hockey penalty box!”

Broadcaster 2:
“Final score tonight: Valery 1, Sopranos 0, with an asterisk… because nobody knows if he’s even still on the field.”

It would be difficult to say which one exactly, so I'll make an honorable mention and say the one with cringe-kino after Livia's funeral. One big thing holding it back is the CGI monstrosity.

Chris's quote about how you can't know for sure whether there's not another Livia, even with computers, is one of the funniest parts of the show.

>Andrea Bocelli
>Bunch of good scenes with the Italian mafia
>Pussy running into the Elvis guy and later murdering him
>Paulie trying to salute David Chase
>Christopher wanting to see the volcano but getting high on heroin the whole trip
>The ending with Carmela hearing Tony coming home
this is a good one nobody has mentioned

5 is agreed to be the weakest. steve buscemi wrote some utter kino before he was also a character
>>
The thing is that almost all Sopranos episodes have some boring filler scenes where Carmella does some housewifey soap opera stuff or Anthony Jr. gets into trouble at school or whatever. So I can't pick any one episode and say it's entirely good. My favourite scene, though, is the one where Artie Bucco pulls a gun on Tony in the car park, and Tony isn't even worried at the time or vengeful afterwards because he has never taken Artie seriously. The fact that Tony doesn't care is another belittlement for Artie. And I know his pain.

that's a good choice
all the episodes that take place outside of the jersey/mob stuff are comfy. test dream is a personal favorite episode of mine just because the hotel stuff is comfy

after the 5th rewatch you realize carmela is one of the very best characters in the show
>>
>>214192857
>the only person who has something remotely positive to say about her is the lady she ran over
>it's how Livia used to call her and tell that somebody died or landed in hospital

She is. Getting filtered by the side characters is a pleb move.

Now come on. Even if you like Carmela, I think you'd have to admit that her Season 1 affair with the priest was boring. And that's our first introduction to the character.
