Why even make it 'Alien'? The series clearly doesn't want to be. The alien is reduced to a spastic monster. They don't give a shit about any of the horror of the alien or the life cycle. The first alien literally looked like a plastic model on wheels.The synth kid story and the other aliens are okay enough that I'm not sure it needed alien pasted over it.
