I don't get it. Why do people like it so much? Everything I've seen of it just seems kinda dull to me. It's identity as a star wars property seems to be the only reason people care about it and the main thing holding it back from being good.
>>
Do you think this show is going to stand the test of time as an all time great piece of television like Breaking Bad or The Sopranos?
>>
The type of person who is keeping up with modern star wars shit seems really easy to impress considering the scenes that are praised like Luten's cringey monologue.
>>
>>214197974
It's different from the usual slop Disney has been serving so people pretend it's good.
>>
ON PROGRAM
>>
It's only impressive in the context of modern star wars.
>>
I'm not sure anyone even really remembers it. People haven't really talked about it after season 2 ended.
>>

>Thing is alright or better than some other stuff it is compared with.
>Some people say it is the best thing ever.
>Other people watch it and find out it is not the best thing ever.
>Unrealistic expectations meet reality.
>Declare it overrated.
>Repeat.
Being tricked by hype is genuinely a (you) problem and this has little to do with Star Wars.
>>
>>214197974
S2 fucking sucked. So much stuff was off screen. S1 way better.
>>
>>214197974
>Everything I've seen of it just seems kinda dull to me.
So instead of watching it and making up your own mind or simply just ignore it you have to be a little bitch and make a thread about what some other people think vs the clips you have seen. Seriously anon, watch it or don't, this isn't your blog.
>>
>>214199820
It isn't just "some people" thinking it's the best thing ever it's like the general consensus that it's some of the best TV ever made. Pretty accurate to say it's overrated.
>>
>>214197974
Do you sit up at night wondering why some people eat brussel sprouts? You dont have to like it, some people do, go watch something else
>>
>>214199895
No one's saying brussel sprouts are the greatest food you could ever eat.
>>
>>214199914
some people think they're great, whole industries revolve around their production and distribution, i've never eaten one
>>
>>214199962
If it was a niche subset of people saying it was great then I wouldn't care. If praise for it was everywhere then it'd be bizarre if it was just mediocre.

>It isn't just "some people"
How many people watched it? I dunno, because they have never been clear on viewing figures and obsfucate by saying "total minutes viewed". The show only got a season 2 rather than more and that was over stuffed because it was only getting 2 seasons and the show was too expensive and cost like $650 million for season 2. Simply put, the people watching these streaming shows is much smaller than you would assume, hence why they don't even release the viewing figures, hence why they didn't do more than 2 seasons. There are more people watching some shitty Youtubers right now than Disney+ shows.

But hey ho, you are caught in a specific online bubble that talks about this shit heavily because it is invested in this shit and they like the show because it has some darker themes and a few good arcs and contextually it is being compared to other Disney Star Wars attempts too which also elevates it for people. Some of these people overhype it because of that and then you come in and act like "everyone is telling me it is the best thing ever" because online now we can either have fanatical devotion or outright hatred and nothing else, in part because you read the same comments and same bubbles.

Overrated is an overused term because people are constantly tricked by hype bubbles. Hype bubbles exist because companies want fans to be fanatical consumerists. And people like you are taking a show which isn't that popular in entertainment overall but is in specific online bubbles and you're acting like "they said it was the best TV ever". You're allowing yourself to become so easily tricked and then whining about it.

So is this even about Star Wars? Seems to me this is about the bubble you're in or the comments you read and how you react to them. "They said it was the best thing everrr though!" Like who the fuck cares? Recency bias exists, people say this shit all the time. It genuinely feels like you're just whining.

This.

>>214200010
well i dont think its all that great, its fine, i dont hate it. I'll probably never watch it again. But clearly the fact that there has been so much absolute garbage out of Disney that it has cleared a very low bar and the fanbase has blue balls for anything competent, so they are celebrating a non disaster which is fair.
>>
>>214200145
I saw a shit ton of people saying it was peak TV, watched it, thought it was mediocre, think the praise is unwarranted, and want to know why they liked it. Why are you so angry? You sound really defensive.
>>
>>214200287
> Why are you so angry?
Not angry at all, don't play that game of projecting emotions onto random people through a screen. I just explained everything to you, which is what you wanted. Do you want me to try for one final time?
>Barely anyone watched it, the show cost a lot of money.
This means that you're wrong when you claim everyone is saying it is the best thing ever. MOST people are completely apathetic to Disney+ shows and that has damaged their brand (like with the MCU). Like 5.9 million people supposedly watched the first two episodes of season 2 if we apply some math to viewing hours watched. That's nothing.
>Had some dark themes, good arcs and was better than most Disney shit.
Because it went to that stripped back approach with themes of espionage, sacrifice and arcs like Ghorman where the Empire set up a massacre for propaganda purposes, compared to the other Disney+ Star Wars offerings this was completely different. That's why people liked it.
>Online bubbles hype things up, things like recency bias apply.
New thing good so new thing best thing ever. Rinse/repeat.
>You listen too much to hype bubbles and call everything overrated.
Because you keep repeating that "shit ton" people said it was the best thing ever and how this must mean something.

>You sound really defensive.
I'm not defensive in the slightest, I just think better of you. I just wanted to explain to you that being constantly tricked by hype and constantly thinking about it is a bad way to be. You keep claiming shit tons of people liked it, but how many people have actually seen it? Not that many. I'm trying to free you from cycles of you complaining about things as being overrated.

its boring, repetitive, has non-binary/tranny characters and then turns into some retarded ripoff of das experiment/standford prison experiment and retards that have never seen or read about anything act like its some deep and mature theme and story. grifters gave them permission not to hate this one too, so they can feel happy about liking star wars.
>>
>>214197974
for you
if star wars is the main thing holding it back from being good, you shouldn’t have watched it in the first place and you’re a confused plinkett tard who can’t adapt to star wars being anything but OT rehashing
>>
>>214201065
I was referring more to the fact that Star Wars never really had any on-screen attempted rape scenes but Andor does but because it's a Star Wars property it couldn't portray that kind of scene realistically. If you watch that scene the empire guy isn't really trying to rip her clothes off or grab her crotch or do anything a rapist would do in that situation. There's one moment you can see him kind of try to go for her breasts on instinct but sort of awkwardly retract his hands. In a better media ecosystem Andor could have just been an original mature sci-fi story but instead it has to be a Disney+ Star Wars show.
>>
>>214197974
just go watch nuDexter faggot
>>
Im watching it right now, im on Ep5, and it's kinda bland
Being "the best" of Star Wars isn't much of an accomplishment. At least the first season, and at least where i am. It's a LOT of filler and few interesting arguments.
>>
>>214197974
First season is pretty enjoyable the second was an absolute bore and I don't understand why it got good reviews
>>
>>214197974
Everything else was so bad that this, being barely mid, looks golden by comparison.
>>214198363
The sopranos is over rated.
>>
>>214202545
Jesus i'm on the first one and it's pretty boring
There is astroturfing tho, and it's gotten very agressive lately, like that movie Weapons and such
>>
>>214199852
They probably didn't want to repeat an entire season of Rebels in live action. Andor was a mistake because the Mon Mothma defection story was already told years earlier. They just wanted a flimsy connection to Rogue One for whatever reason.
>>
>>214199852
They were going to do 5 seasons, but Disney didn't want to do it since they take forever to make episodes, so they cramped everything into one season just so it makes sense. It didn't really go into a whole lot enough to be worth a season by itself.
>>
>>214200570
He's right you sound really mad
>>
They are paid shills. Go to imdb and read the reviews. People say it's trash
>>
>>214197974
cold war, gud V evul, 'im spartacus' slop. Lucas SW didn't try to be a different story but it elevated above the mundane. not done here.
also stopped watching because the ratfaced MC is a worse mumbler than Tom Hardy.
