>Lund was unapologetic about her heroin addiction. She wrote at length about heroin and advocated it for legal recreational use in the United States, as well as romanticized its effects.[11] "She loved heroin, she was killed by heroin," Ferrara said on her heroin addiction. "...Zoe was one of these people who thought heroin was the greatest thing in the world, and she did until the day she died. She was down on coke, down on everything, but you know, heroin was the elixir of life for her."[10]
>"I've known a lot of serious drug users, but Zoë was Queen," Richard Hell, a friend of Lund's, recalled in 2002. "You've got to admire someone as committed to it as she was. She didn't just LOVE heroin, she believed in it."[1]
>Lund died in Paris on April 16, 1999, of heart failure, due to extended cocaine use, which replaced her long-term heroin use after her move to Paris in 1997.[9][3][4][6][21][22] She was 37.[11][2][4]

Watched The Fly today and I honestly don’t even know what I think about it. It has some cool effects and Jeff Goldblum was pretty funny in a campy way and I liked the baboon. I think I just wish there was something more too it. It was straight up just a little bit of body horror and then it ended. It’s not bad, but I think it could have been great if they added a bit more maybe? Like maybe Goldblum captures a bunch of people for his machine or there’s a twist. It definitely needed something.

Nigga I have movies running day and night here, the only time I need an itinerary is when we get into the home stretch and I need to make sure I don't miss anything essential. I'll watch 30 or more Hammer kinos before the calendar even hits October. The new NoES box set is coming out soon, I'll binge all of them. I have hundreds of movies just in my slasher genre category on my personal server alone (you do have separate categories for your horrors, right?). I will be lucky if nonstop kino marathons for 60 days packs everything in.

X is pretty dull, I never got the hype for it. Just wasn’t provocative enough in terms of imagery and by the end it just turned into a stereotypical slasher with all the tropes that came with it, like the killers silently teleporting behind you despite establishing very early on that the old guy could not go far without getting winded. And what little provocative imagery they do show off is so tame
>is that…is that any old killer couple having missionary sex?! AAAAAAA IM GOING INSAAAAAAAANE
For what it’s worth though Pearl is a far superior film, and I don’t just mean within the context of this series either; as a stand-alone storyline it’s pretty entertaining. Don’t watch Maxxxine though, it’s so dull and takes none of the lessons learned from Pearl. As a giallo inspired film it’s a murder mystery with zero sense of urgency.

I don't think the Asia situation was weird at all honestly. I remember her texts got leaked by TMZ and she was saying in them that she had no idea he was a minor until he tried extorting her, because in Italy the age of consent was 15 and when she was that kid's age, at 17, she was fucking 30 year old guys and there was nothing wrong about it.

Really it was just a American morals vs Italian morals thing, the fact the kid didn't take her to court pretty much says it all, she could only lose in the court of American public opinion.

Roman is weird of course.

Dude, yeah I mean even the whole fucking family dying was bleak as hell, and then it just turns into a buddy comedy horror.
It was a unique film though. I think the wild tone sent a message though, that life is full of suffering and you either laugh through it or it'll destroy your soul.

In fairness, the studio still drags him out for the purpose of marketing the movie even though he barely had any input on it as producer. And because his name is straight up put in bold, a larger text size and put on the top of every poster for HIM, I really don’t blame the average joe for just ignoring the rest of it and thinking “oh wow, another Jordan peele flick already?”

Its only good because they at least decided to get half decent cinematographer so at the very least its atmospheric. Chaves still doesn't know how to pace his stories nor does he understand that simply cutting away music does not make for a good scare. But at least its visually nice and the acting is nice as always.
