No, it was all made up. Movies were always far out from the actual realit, they are dreams from that era. The farther you go back in time, the more fake it is. If they were shooting on a street, they would clean the street before shooting the movie, it's that simple. In every biopic the actor is more handsome than the real person. Women wake up with pristine make up and hair. It's all fake, so the very premise that movies represent an era is wrong.

Crime is much lower now, it's more targeted than random. But you also didn't have boomers shooting at you for riding your bike outside.We grew up poorer suburb kids in the 90s & it was actually great. Played basketball & rode bikes til the sun went down, then played vidya. Kids aren't even allowed to do that now, I feel terrible for them.
