Man, the breakdown of modern VFXs is so fucking boring and sucks ass. Whenever somebody asks, "I wonder how they did it" in regards to any modern film, I roll my fucking eyes. It's CGI, retard. All of it. Everything has just been replaced with CGI. Even when it doesn't need to be and can be done in some other way, it's CGI. Even films that allegedly "use practical effects" and "are shot on location" are lying, everything has been replaced with CGI or plastered over with so much CGI that it might as well be CGI.Back in the day, there were entire televised programs about 'movie magic', and it was as interesting a watch as the film itself, often more so. Seeing all the insane creative solutions people came up with to realize all those different effects. Your mind would melt knowing what people did. Always filled you with excitement and motivation. Now it's all been farmed on the exact same software, with the same exact solution to every problem and the same exact look to everything.

This movie is a damn masterpiece compared to modern cinema.
youtube just threw a short at me about the poltergeist house imploding on itself and i was just fascinated, not so much by the effect but by the fact that the world has made everything so expensive that the man hours and materials and knowledge required to make that shot... just flat out isn't worth it.
>>214216926>uhm, it's not computer GENERATED imagery, it's computer AIDED>yeah, we shot on location. the location was a studio we all actually showed up to instead of doing a zoom call>it's based on a real story, my grandma used to tell me all kinds of stories when she got into the medicine cabinet

Back in my dad we had flick books yep this was before talking pictures and watchy murfilums. You had to flick through pieces of paper to see an animation play out. It was state of the art technology. People used to gather round as we flicked through mulitple books to tell a story, each book lasting afew frames mind you and we would have to do all the sounds and fx ourselves but nothing beats flicker mucallems
