This movie had a lot of cool individual parts, but as a whole really falls apartThere's GREAT noir atmosphere and a cool little plot line with the French secret service, neat stuff about tracking and studying Godzilla's movements before he hits NYC, and some neat monster sequences, but it doesn't quite all fit together, on top of getting mixed up with the plot thread of comedically incompetent mayor's reelection campaign, the half assed romance, and the persistent push to turn the movie into a Jurassic Park ripoff, which it ultimately becomes entirely in the third act.
