What happened to stone cold autistic television? Star Trek is a good example. TNG is autistic as fuck. The lack of drama is very comfy. I feel like a lot of old TV shows were made by nerds but most modern TV shows are made by annoying-ass theater kids and nepobabies. If you want autism in scifi/fantasy nowadays you have to turn to books (which are gay)
>>214221436>tng>lack of dramaThere was drama in TNG. It just was actual adults acting like adults and handling shit professionally and not crew screaming and running around and blowing up at each other like a pack of mental defectives amped up on ADHD.
I'd say TNG and every other Star Trek thing is plenty dramatic.
>>214221436I really like the episodes where they go to a planet and it feels more like an anthology series. Whenever there's an episode that focuses on drama between the crew it's so boring. Any time they show the Ten Forward lounge that's an immediate episode skip.
>>214221481Yes, I guess this is what I mean. Problems are almost always resolved through reasonable discussion. It's like everyone is Sayid from LOST
>>214221436>dude i am le heckin based autist but books are gayyou're a failed normalfag bro.
>lack of dramathe ship gets taken over or nearly destroyed in every ep
>>214223089That's action. Drama is interpersonal conflict, you fucking moron.
>>214221436women writers
>>214223211theres a reason to it always getting taken over or nearly destroyed, retard, thats the drama. imagine being this stupid. just make a star wars thread next time
>>214221436The studio that makes the show wanted to "widen the audience" to include capeshit and star wars fans, and that means more action and soap opera shit and less "science".
>>214221481>>214221593What makes old Trek so good and unique for me is that it feels like watching a theater play where everyone is really mature and handles everything like professional adults, but the show is also silly in that>boy I sure do love playing the flute, hope nobody interrupts me 3x in a rowway.Peak comfy kino and there will never be anything like it again.
>>214223516There was one time the Ferengi took it over in like twelve seconds flat with three cloaked warbirds
>>214224737to be fair the ship's computers in Berman-era trek are strangely not encrypted and hackable by any old alien, as seen in Voyager.
>>214225831Janeway insisted they remove all the encryption because it kept locking her out, and she screamed about the ship being "anti-woman" until they glumly complied with her psychotic orders.
