I literally got into a screaming match with a manlet surgeon because when we were all eating breakfast in the on call room I heard him say something about how he was going to have to buy a new car because his engine was wrecked. The mechanic told him he had burnt the engine out because he never put oil in it, and he exclaims "BUT I GET MY OIL CHANGED EVERY TIME THE LIGHT COMES ON!" I turned around, sure I misunderstood him, and explained thats not the "change oil" light, that's the "nigga something's wrong because we have no oil!" light. He got really aggressive and insulting, telling me how much time and money he spent in medical school, to which I replied I didn't spend a fucking cent at medical school, but even I know what the fucking oil light means on a car. Honestly finding out that most doctors and surgeons are functionally retarded was like finding out santa claus isn't real, because you just have an image in your head of doctors being among the smartest people in the world who regularly just spit in the face of god as they gave people more years of their life. But they're not, they're just normal people who have been driven half crazy with med school and have such a narrow specialization that they're useless outside of that arena.

I met a doctor who was dumbfounded by the sight of a piece of medical equipment he had never seen before. It wasn't high tech device but a mechanically simple contraption. I wonder how that doctor remain employed if he wasn't keeping up with new tech and medical procedures in his own specialty.

In my experience surgeons were more likely to be Patrick Bateman style psychopath dudebros and regular MDs were eccentric bumbling nerds, the obscure specialists were weird fucks and most likely to have unpleasant personalities.
