I honestly revere this man. Like how is it even possible to convince people to pay half a million dollars to sit in a little tube to "see" the titanic through a peep hole? They gladly paid all that money and they smelled each other poop and looked at the Titanic on a dell monitor. If he wasn't such a cheap asshole he would be the greatest salesman of all time.

The navy didn't say they detected anything until they came out and said it imploded. The Coast guard picked up a knocking sound but both the CG and Navy said it was probably debris or ambient noise. The media led everyone to believe it was them banging on the wall based on some random statement.
>>
>>214235784
Both orgs picked up the sound of the sub imploding just after they lost communications with it so they were lying niggers
>>
>>214235725
what I would have done is make a model of the titanic in a big fishtank and a little tiny camera attached to a tiny drone controlled by the Xbox controller. No real windows on the sub, just a monitor made to look like a window showing the fishtank cam. dunk the sub in water just deep enough for it to feel as if they're going deep underwater. so long as the water in the tank is a bit cloudy they won't suspect a thing when you "open the window cover".

There you go, happy rich people, quite safe and costing a fraction of the money it should be so you can hide loads of money from the taxman too.

He was a solid salesman, but i think that CBS dweeb in Netflix documentary essentially explains what people were thinking/how they were sold on that shitbox " i was sure it was safe because he wanted free press, so he wouldn't put me in a dangerous sub" in the same way other people probably thought "it's safe because he's down there with us".

IIRC there was a couple of times they straight up landed ON TOP of the wreck and still couldn't see shit, so they had to return. But yeah, i'll never understand why people just couldn't use ROV to see it, even in the sub you're still "not there", not like you're swimming around.

To be fair, i think it was one of those situations where everyone in the company has gotten so used to the bullshit, they couldn't see how fucking crazy it looks from the outside.

For example, they left the sub out in the open in doc's parking lot for the whole Canadian winter. Ask an average person if they'd do that to their car.

It was a super-luxurious boat seen as the pinnnacle of engineering at the time. It went down on its maiden voyage with a lot of famous people on board including many of its architects who boasted how safe and unsinkable it was.

>The movie, not even joking.

The titanic came back into pop culture when the wreck was discovered in 1985. It was a huge story and there was even a live TV special in 1987 hosted by Telly Savales where they took artifacts from the wreck and displayed them. Before that the titanic had just disappeared into the void like MH370. The reason they made the movie was because everybody knew about the titanic again because the wreck was found.
