Did anyone else notice the Cyberpunk bubble of the mid 2010s-early 2020s popped? I don't see any new productions related to the genre anymore besides 2099

people are excited about real ai since the last (3?) years (i forget when chatgpt came out). nobody is going to be interested in fictional camp futures when the real future actually seems interesting again for a minute, also like while 2049 was on-the-pulse 'cyberpunk' proper (chopped my arm off for a robot arm for some stupid reason) is now way off on a tangent from what people are gonna be conceptualizing as future

Mickey 17 was Cyberpunk and that came out like 6 months ago. It wasn't great though.

The last one before that was probably The Creator in 2023, which was brilliant.
>>
>>214234017
I had no idea this movie was cyberpunk. I'll give it a watch later
>>
>>214233000
The world is looking more and more like a gay dystopian sci fi shitshow so that might be why the popularity of bladerunner shit has dropped off a lot.
>>
>>214233000
Turns out the digital future sucks and involves everyones life just being boring and expensive
>>
>>214233133
whatever you say slopper
>>
>>214234338
it's not cyberpunk, it's traditional sci-fi. god some of you people (>>214234017) are retarded.
i watched most of it. it's kind of weird, pattinson is good in it though
>>
>>214234468
Listen that anon said it was Cyberpunk so I just thought it was. Thank you for clarifying. I'll still watch it since I keep forgetting that it's been out for a while already

>Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction set in a dystopian future. It is characterized by its focus on a combination of "low-life and high tech".[1] It features a range of futuristic technological and scientific achievements, including artificial intelligence and cyberware, which are juxtaposed with societal collapse, dystopia or decay.[2]
It is textbook cyberpunk you retard
>>
Bubble popped because veryone is hopepilled now and that's the antithesis of cyberpunk
>>
>>214233000
the collective disappointment in Cyberpunk 2077 is what killed it.

>I'm putting together an army...
From this moment onwards 2049 went to shit for me.
>>
>>214234540
Uhhh what exactly are we hope pilled about? Because I'm AI is taking over production and labor and the elite and powerful watch as the masses starve to death pilled.

>>
>>214233000
There wasn't one.
It was one game, one movie and one anime, and none of them were actually cyberpunk. It was just ugly, generic sci-fi.
>>
>>214234687
edgerunners was OK it's just weebs fucking spam the shit out of it and overhype the SHIT out of it. proof that you just make something anime and weebs will gobble it up no matter the slop
>>
>>214233000
I think its because we're getting closer to the "level" of the typical cyberpunk setting, and it's no longer spooky far flung science wizardry, just hypothetical 10ish years away tech now.
A bunch of near-future dystopias thought up in the 70s to mid 90s(?) were discussing far flung theoretical futures that are plain mundane or near real at this time.
It'll be the same with full on sci-fi in a hundred or so years, they'll be quaint "oh how neat" kinds or movies when energy weapons and warp drives are real, or on the cusp of being real.

The globalists are about to be overthrown and the west will have to find its roots again because BRICS is about to leave us in the dust.

Hard but good times ahead.

Glorified search engine, but what is real interesting is that it's mentioned in the word of God and connects to the beast(the antichrist).

Soon we'll hit Ubik's "trapped in my apartment because I can't afford the door's microtransaction".
