Regrettably no, but that might just be because you haven't seen the best movies yet.

Add Zodiac, Fritz Lang's M, Stalker, in Bruges, and The Big Lebowski to your watch list. Even if they don't make it into your top 5 they will raise the bar for you on what constitutes a good movie, and indeed Kino.

A bottom 5 is pointless as you will constantly be changing that. There are thousands of bad or mid movies that are rightly forgotten in a year or two and only about 200 films that are genuinely good.

certified shit taste
>>
>>214250861
Bait. Also joker 2 is the bad one.
>>
>>214250861
2/5 not great
>>
>>214250861
EWS and Batman Returns are both great, but I wouldn't put them in my top 10. haven't seen 3-5.
Dr. Strangelove and especially B Lyndon are also both great, so you're wrong their. Joker I don't care about either way, it's meh. Haven't seen Giblislop or Maquia. You're taste: newfiggish.

Why did you like Strangelove and Barry Lyndon? Barry Lyndon in particular just seemed like a standard period piece where a young guy climbs the ranks through a combination of luck, bravery and hypocrisy and gets too cocky and gets his comeuppance. The red and the black or any gangster movie generally follows the same formula. Only difference is that Barry Lyndon was a lot more beautifully shot but also more meandering .

Last time I watched Strangelove was as a teenager but I don't think I would be able to appreciate it now. In general I think most of Kubrick's films are underwhelming and rather plain besides EWS and Clockwork Orange which I also love

Barry Lyndon doesn't have to be your favorite movie but to put it in bottom 5 is trolling
>>
>>214250861
You haven't seen that many movies yet. That's the impression I get. Eyes Wide Shut, Batman Returns, Dr. Strangelove and Barry Lyndon are all great. Joker is mid but not worst of all time. You seem like an anime zoomer just dipping his toes into film. EWS and BL are the two best movies you mentioned.
>>

You could have easily cut out an hour from that film and there would be no difference. Redmond's character flaws aren't portrayed well either. Any generic gangster flick does the ambitious youth to impulsive rich guy to broken husk of a man thing better
>>
>>214251502
Yeah Barry Lyndon is one of the greatest movies of all time but apparently you've only seen 10 movies. So I get your rating now
>>
>>214251539
Can you explain why? There are way better 17th-18th century period pieces out there. Namely red and the black.

Looking back on my list I would probably swap Match Point for It's a Wonderful Life. Match Point is a good adaptation of Crime and Punishment (that comes up with the opposite message of Dostoevsky) but it isn't top 5 material. Maybe it's on par with pretty-good but somewhat forgettable films like The Aviator, Catch Me IF You Can, Casino...etc
>>
>>214251642
>forgettable films like The Aviator
Yeah
>Catch Me if You Can
underrated movie imo, but sure
>Casino
You just reveal your own ignorance
>>
>>214250861
you do you senpie but dr strangelove is good and that is all there is to say about that
>>
>>214251737
Pretty much every Scorcese film has been samey Oscar bait that blends together. Aviator is easily better than Casino, Taxi Driver, Departed, Shutter Island...et- basically mogs all his gangster flicks or anything he's done in the past 2 decades. Haven't watched Last Temptation of Christ yet so I can't judge there but I suspect that might be his best film
>>
>>214251857
Are you OP? If so I'm out. You have bad taste, to answer your question.
>>
>>214251915
Yeah. But I really don't think Scorcese has any good films. Aviator was my favorite but I would never rewatch it. There is just nothing interesting about any of his films.

In general I detest gangster movies. The only movie following criminals that I generally enjoyed was the Oceans movies
>>
>>214251954
To say you don't like movies about criminals is fine, but to say The Aviator is better than Taxi Driver is fucked up.
>>
>>214251987
Taxi Driver was uninteresting. It's like Drive to me just really a non entity of a film that makes me feel nothing. Still better than Casino which I found to be incredibly bland with no point to it at all. Kind like Blow or Goodfellas or the Departed. I don't know why they are so highly regarded
>>
>>214252062
I feel this way about the Oceans movies. Just fluff.
>>
>>214252460
Clooney has charisma and the movies are slick and well paced. I would put it on par with films like the school of Rock or Gladiator (essentially perfect films but ultimately uninspiring and not worth a rewatch) l. All of Scorsese's films with De Niro are meandering, self indulgent and De Niro is a total charisma vacuum
>>
>>214252540
School of Rock is good. Also found Gladiator to be a slog. I guess people have different tastes at the end of the day. Still, you probably do need to see more movies.

1/10 best I can do.
