meh

it's ok

people who say it's his best film are being contrarians

You're probably a little too young for it yet.
>>
i'm probably a contrarian then

It insists upon itself

It's much much better than ok

>people who say it's his best film are being contrarians
You're right about this though
>>
>>214253879
wait, Michael Keaton was in this?
>>
it's good but needed some pam grier plapping to be great
>>
DeNiro shooting that bitch in the parking lot is great
>>

I agree, I like it and it's in my top half of his filmography but people need to calm down saying it's Tarantino's best. It's somehow overrated and underrated at the same time, it's like the pendulum swung too far on it
How good is that 106th street needle drop though
>>
>>214253897
Barely. He has like 3 scenes.
>>
>>214253465
It's straight up boring. It has one good scene and it's this >>214253933
Calling this movie underrated in an old meme at this point. It's appropriately rated. It was getting exactly the amount of attention it deserved before redditors (tarantino fans) started calling it underrated. Every single tarantino movie is better.
>>
I like it because it has tarantino style of story telling but the characters behave more like actual people in a story rather than Tarantino's usual "look how totally badass and cool this character is" in every scene.
>>
I rate it above hateful eight, django, kill bill part one and death proof
>>
>>214253465
They're inflating it because it's about a strong (geriatric) black woman
>>
>>214253879
Is de niro standing on a box back there.

Swear Keaton is taller than him

I'd say its solidly underrated. It came right after Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction which are still Tarantino's best so the comparison to his two prior films were hard on it.

Yeah, Pam Grier and Robert Forster make for very relatable protagonists. They're both jaded; but they still have enough humanity left in them that you're rooting for them to pull off the heist.

>>214255103
I too get the sense that praise for this movie as underrated is a result of white guilt. It doesn't sit right with a certain type that the least talked about tarantino movie is about a black woman.
>>
>>214253897
Yeah, he plays the same character in this and Out of Sight.
>>
>>214255363

I don't know. I'm pretty racist and I like it.
>>
>>214253465
its the best movie about being black made by a white director
>>
>>214255363
Lmao, no. It's because it's the only one of his movies that isn't a cartoon, and there are fans of his that are embarrassed that that's what they actually like. So they claim this one is better. I'm reality the cartoons are him being true to himself and he only made this to prove he could make a "grounded" movie before going back to making more cartoons.
