it’s lame and boring, idk how you manage to make an atmospheric movie in japan and completely miss any of the beautiful scenery. if the director bothered paying attention in film school maybe he could’ve made something watchable

Cinema is almost dead (luckily we still have good jav).The last good japanese film I watched was probably one cut of the dead (if you try to watch it do not turn it off half way even though you want to I promise you it's worth it)

>>214254711The whole film feels very apathetic, with characters constantly no-selling scenes of violence. I like the scene later in the film where the guy gets shot on the beach and people barely care. If the symbolism is about being trapped in your past, then there's at least a slightly positive note in the protagonist encouraging the younger guy to leave the life behind. Maybe something about it sometimes being too late to save yourself, but still possible to save others
