Tony Scott was not that good, and the Scott brothers didn't really make movies together. The Wachowskis started well but fell off a creative cliff after Sense8. Scott's always had his own production company he started with Tony, probably this late into his career Scott is splitting his work more between directing and producing, delegating more of the directorial work to assistants and second unit and so on. That's why his recent movies feel more phoned in and indistinct.
