I wonder why nobody has taken a crack at doing a Spawn animated series since HBO.

Spawn is dumb edgelord shit. Hellboy is the series that deserves a faithful adaptation.

It would be too based. And since it'd be good and hard to make into worthless slop it'll never happen.

Invincible was actually pretty good.

>Media entity that was last time popular 30 years ago is no longer deemed popular enough to produce a series
Really makes you think

It's not like people don't know who Spawn is, you're acting like it's some obscure thing.
>>
>>214279266
it was too kino

Watch this last week. Pretty kino when Spawn isn't passive in times that he shouldn't be.
Apparently Todd McFarlane was looking into making a sequel series in 2004

With how successful stuff like The Boys and Invincible have been for Amazon, I'm surprised they haven't done something with Spawn.

And yet Tron is getting another sequel, Back to the Future is getting a reboot, and Indiana Jones got a movie some 20 years after the last one that people already didn’t like. Normies hadn’t thought of any of these things in years. The corporations and producers don’t give a shit about how long it’s been, so long as the name is still recognizable enough.

Because the HBO animated series is perfect and Todd MacFarlane knows that anything else will be worse and since he retains sole ownership of the character we don't have to worry about it. Once he dies it will get milked for all its worth though.

I love Spawn, but it moves at a snail's pace at best. Plus, it was 90's as fuck, and >>214279309

did Amazon's Invincible cover that war stuff yet? I haven't watched the cartoon adaptation. Spawn shows up for a cameo in the comics and that would have been a great nod to remind people

I liked it when it first ran, but a rewatch during covid really changed my mind. Spawn came across as the least interesting character. The bounty hunter plot was interesting in the last season but I might be biased because Jennifer Jason Leigh did the voice work and I always like her stuff.
