I think the season will return to Belle Reeve and Lex will play a major role in the last three episodes, since he has a direct connection to the pocket dimension technology. Belle Reeve will also some The Suicide Squad and Creature Commandos characters to appear. Those are going to be the big DCU cameos and developments in the season that Gunn teased.

Creature Commandos was written all the way back during the production of Peacemaker S1, the season written for fun when Gunn was on break then he just greenlit the project as an animated series when he became boss.

I think the primary point of that scene was to reveal why Harcourt keeps rejecting Chris' advances (as well recontextualize their initial interactions in the first season), and also imply that Rick had his own problems (which was hinted back in CC, Senior said his son was conceived back when he was still a teenager).

I also think alternate Rick acts like a goofball because Peacemaker is raunchy adult comedy, and pretty much every guest character who initially appeared in the movies are much more raunchier in the show as well. Like I wouldn't be surprised if Lex actually appears, they'll give him a small dick joke.
