What are your favorite ship-based episodes? Episodes in which the ship is either featured heavily as a plot point or episodes where everything takes place on the ship (bottle episodes)

>>214286784Okazaki's designs are the 90s automobiles of starships; the fact they're all designed in early CAD software makes them blobby and round.

>>214288970Back in the early 90s before Star Trek: First Contact there was this trekkie known as Masao Okazaki who had learned how to work early CG software during a time where getting it to do anything was both expensive and very jank. He wrote this elaborate fanfiction of the pre-TOS Federation, particularly regarding the Earth-Romulan War, and designed a huge amount of assets to depict it including all the ships detailed here >>214286784 as well as early Romulan and Klingon designs, giving them an aesthetic that creatively showed the evolution of rocket-style ships into the familiar saucer profile; even if many of the ships lool weird and overly round, they fit the description of the vessels in the Balance of Terror better than the viewscreen-using, phase-cannon spewing, photonic torpedo-slinging upside-down Akira. He'd graduate from being a fan to being part of the staff when CBS hired him to do TOS Remastered since he was very good at reproducing the look of TOS stuff in CGI, and this project was happening around the same time as Enterprise was airing, so there were hopes some of his stuff might appear on-screen in later seasons the same way he slipped a few of his designs into TOS-R.Like all things regarding ENT's projected later seasons, it was not to be.
>>214289251Very cool, what a shame it didn't pan out. What kinds of designs did he manage to sneak into TOS-R?
>>214289289The one I posted, G-Class Station appears in The Ultimate Computer Remaster as Starbase 6. The design also appears in Lower Decks.
>>214289436I never would have known, it fits right in
>>214289251I'm a big fan of expanded universe/fanworks pre-STO. A cousin of mine had this big old trek encyclopedia made somewhere in the early-mid aughts, and I used to spend hours pouring through it as a kid looking at all the ship designs. I wonder where it ended up sometimes...

>>214284843>man what happened to the nebby's nacelle? The model is 30 to 40 years old now. It was never designed to last this long. So the paint will peel and flake off with age. Espedially along areas of stress like corners, bends, and any area that carries weight like the nacelle area. It can be fixed with the help of an experienced model maker. However, I'm guessing that because this item holds historical value, they don't want to mess with it. Or maybe the museum doesn't want to spend the money. It's really up to the owners if they want to do it.The museum spent the money to restore the original TOS Enterprise. But I doubt they care as much about the "USS Farragut".

>>214290757During the Star Trek The Expedition tour when it got to Scotland customs thought it had drugs inside. That or there was just a Scottish engineer there butthurt about the Klingons calling the Enterprise a garbage scow and thought their new flagship should be hauled away as garbage as revenge.
>>214290849WHAT! How dare they. Are you sure this isn't just a rumor?Because that's messed up. Why would the Scottish government mess with an official movie production like that?
