Can someone explain Puppet Master to me? Why were they bad, and then sometimes good, and then sometimes bad again, only to be good, and then be bad, just to be good, to be bad, good
>>
>>214296356
The movie is shit, but in such an amazing way that it should be watched. For some, it might hit that "so bad it's good" territory, but even for the rest, it's at least a movie you can't look away from.
>>
Its definitely not as good as the original, in fact the first 30 or so minutes had a surprising amount of moments where it dragged. But things really picked up by the time Toxie got to Japan, loved that the filmmakers didn't skimp out on the blood or the naked chicks at all. It was also pretty funny to see the random passersby that appeared in the background, they were either laughing their asses off at what they were seeing or were in sheer bewilderment of what the gaijins were filming. The car chase at the end was also a blast, but I do feel like the film was a bit too long compared to the first TA.
Tempted to move onto Class of Nukem High next since I heard TA3 actually wasn't good.

Daria Nicolodi often said that she considered her final scene in this film to be Argento’s greatest act of cruelty to her. Coming across the killer’s final tableaux and discovering the truth about who the killer is, Anne stands in the rain and screams over and over again. Nicolodi apparently felt that Argento required her to stand there soaked and screaming in order to punish her for having worked (with Tenebrae co-star John Steiner) on Mario Bava’s Shock, instead of having accepted a supporting role in Suspiria.

2. he casted john steiner in this movie so he doesn't care about Shock
3. nicolodi had a major part in phenomena after this
4. standing in the rain is not cruel it's how a bunch of his movies end, he could have had her finger bitten off by a monkey or covered in millions of bugs like he did with that freak child

Is there a source for this? Daria said on the Arrow blu documentary that she wasn't even supposed to scream for that long but did because she was so fed up after the long filmmaking process. Dario was seething and fighting with her and Franciosa the entire time because he thought they were getting too close and he was afraid of being cucked. So I think this may be an untruth.

I don't have mommy issues but I would call her that in a heartbeat. Vera is one of the few actresses worthy of such a title. Patrick Wilson also puts in a solid performance even in slop like Aquaman 2 and they're always the heart of these films so it's a good time if you like them.
Side note: Last Rites does feel especially hagiographic at the beginning, which shouldn't surprise anyone at this point.

Saw the Conjuring 3 last night. It is a very decent movie but it is missing the James Wan touch. And the jumpscare scenes and tension were definitely lacking. Still a good horror plot and movie. Might put the first and second movie on tonight.

ok so originally Don't Go in that House Bitch WAS a fake trailer. But now Roth is planning to make it a full length.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpguAl7V_vU
>Roth previews, “There are some ideas that are so ridiculous they don’t let you sleep. I have always wanted to make the ultimate haunted house movie, but something unlike any we’ve seen – something full on insane and over the top. When I shared the idea with Snoop, he got it immediately and it was a no-brainer to make this film together.”

He liked women in general as subjects.
>In Suspiria I wasn’t primarily interested in the theme of motherhood but, rather, in women’s lives. In fact, if you want to give a deeper reading of the film, it can be seen as a vaguely lesbian story; where lesbianism has a certain importance, or, more precisely, where the relationships between women are sometimes of a lesbian nature and are characterised by power struggles. There aren’t any male characters to speak of in the film; among those that do appear, one is blind, another is mute and the other is gay… All there is are power relations between women.

There was a kickstarter or something so I just assumed it wasn't going to get made or going to have a budget of $12.
Also there's another ROTLD film coming out that's gonna stomp on it. Also nobody really wants Quig to helm a film.

Until Dawn was surprisingly fun. I think it could have been a bit better if the characters had experimented a bit more, but whatever.
I watched a friend "play" through the game forever ago and near as I can tell the film has nothing to do with it, like I'm 99% the game didn't have time travel, but again, whatever.

It sounds like a money maker. Not a total blockbuster, but it's got the vibes of a dumb summer movie which gives it time to get a following by October if they release it right. Stoners will show up for snoop and that is one of the least critical audiences you can have, along with holiday audiences
Stupid fun might make a comeback

It was mainly another vehicle for Sandberg to run through a bunch of jumpscare ideas but overall fine. Ella Rubin was nice to look at.

What have you guys got lined up for October? I've pretty thoroughly exhausted all the good (and even a little bit of the bad) English horror movies, so I've been slowly making a list of foreign horror movies that I'm gonna watch during October. So far, though, the only foreign country that has impressed me with its horror movies has been South Korea.
>>
>>214314202

A good actually talented director is so important. All the classic horror movies from each decade would be so much better with an actual well known talented director directing it.
