The official trailer for TLJ was so visually striking and really hyped me for the movie. I remember being irritated the entire movie with the abysmal dialogue and then when Luke died everyone turned around like "what? Why did he die?"it just left me confused and angry.
Imagine telling someone back in 2015 when TFA came out that Kylo Ren would end up with Rey instead of the black dude. It was obviously set up for Finn to get with Rey, how did white men wriggle their way out of this?

Just because Disney is criminally stupid doesn't mean that they're not paying attention to people's reactions. When everyone reacts to the trailer showing the character by shitting on how he looks like a fucking ape, it's obvious that they'll pay attention to that and reduce his significance going forward. The only way this character could've worked is if he was cast with another actor.

Boyega never had star power. He was the worst character in Attack the Block and he was constantly overshadowed by every supporting actor. Rian Johnson also just hates black people. He had to get rid of him to give more screentime for his true love, fat homely Asian women and cold incompetent feminist white women.
