The notion that 80 million Bajoran’s were “murdered” during what was by all accounts a pretty benevolent stewardship by the Cardassian Union and the incredibly handsome and intelligent Gul Dukat is as preposterous as the claims of “comfort” women and forced prostitution of Bajoran women, who quite clearly were engaging in relationships with Cardassian men on their own volition

>>
>>214312268
Why?
>>
>>214312534
I have to assume because the writers watched the sabotage scene in jj trek and thought it was epic bacon
>>
So I just finished LD on my complete Trek including NuTrek Timeline watchthrough and for some reason knowing it takes place soon after the Dominion war, it explains the lackadaisical euphoria of the cast. It's very Post-WWII positivity. Plus in 5 seasons of 25 minute episodes, that's 50 episodes, its basically one season of a classic Trek show. It wraps up lots of things and opens up other things. Not the worst Trek of them all. It's low, but not in last place. That's all I have to say on that subject.
Up next is Star Trek Prodigy, which I've seen maybe the first 3 episodes of but I'm starting on episode 1. After Prodigy the timeline guide I'm following switches to the Kelvin films. That'll be a cakewalk plus it'll be cool to see Nimoy one last time.
After that........Picard. Then STD Seasons 3-5 plus the episode of Voyager where the Doctor is in the future. I don't know where the timeline guide will place that episode because I don't know the exact stardate and I don't want to spoil myself.
Then I can finally rest.

For the curious, I also did the same thing once with Star Wars. I know nobody in the world watched it, but Star Wars: Resistance was a silly and fun show.
That is all. I will answer questions if anyone has them.
>>
>>214312236
Never revisited. She's an "imp" and not what she appears to be, according to Q, from that episode. But do they ever follow up on that? Nope they do not.
>>
>>214313483
uh yeah they kinda do
imp is being used as an insult, and it's later revealed she is in fact not just a regular humanoid (what she appears to be), but is an extremely old el aurian
>>
>>214313667
Why does she do Magical Negro Hand Powers pose at him? They definitely don't address the weirdness between Q and Guinan you're just a faggot.
>>
>>214313667
So Q is afraid of her because she’s a couple hundred years old?
>>
>>214313865
Nta, I've thought about it, and the only weird thing Guinan ever does is when reality changes and Tasha comes back she senses that reality changed. Not much of a superpower but it's all I can come up with
>>
>>214314031
Oh and also she's able to exist as an "echo" in the Nexus while also being on the Enterprise. But she can't actually help out. Wow so scary. I can see why Q was so scared of her.
>>
>>214313842
you mean cat claws? idfk ask the director, he probably just told her to take a stance or smth
i guess asking the viewer to use their own interpretation and read between the lines is asking a lil too much, huh
>>214313865
this was addressed earlier
>>
>>214314351
Isn't it stated you inadvertently leave pieces of yourself behind in the nexus, because leaving it is like being ripped from heaven?

Living Witness's "flashbacks" of course take place within the normal VOY timeframe. Since you're not watching it in that order you must be using the frame story's time, which is set a little before STD's future episodes.
But the ending reveals *another* frame story set further in the future, which isn't specified but can be inferred to be likely further in the future than any other ST media. But it's also all of like, 30 seconds and isn't really relevant to the plot like the main frame story is. In any case it'll be the only good thing to look forward to after you finish PRO so if you haven't lost your sanity yet after PIC then save it for after STD as a palate cleanser/treat.

I'm just gonna watch Living Witness when the guide says to. That's what I've done so far I'm not going to deviate now. One choice they made that was neat was they put the Borg episode of Enterprise just AFTER Star Trek First Contact. Overall it's a decent guide. I'm through the bulk of it all now it's just some nuTrek cleanup duty. But yeah Living Witness is literally all I have left to look forward to. It's all cool down and letting my brain assimilate Good Trek while I let it pretty much play in the background.

I've heard that they would write scripts. Without knowing Whoopi's availability. Because she was a busy lady. At that time, starring in flicks. So, they'd write Guinan to be interchangeable with Troi. And if Whoopi couldn't do it. Was an easy fix. I don't know how true that really was though. But, if it is. Then it makes sense how those characters converged into being pretty similar and making the other redundant.

Man, I'd forgotten how many middling episodes there were in TNG season 5. Wouldn't be as bad but they're all clumped together, the PTSD boy that pretends to be an android, the mind rapist, the genetically superior colonists. At least Cause and Effect is a light at the end of the tunnel.

It's funny how the four choices you get are either TOS 'The Trouble with Tribbles', TNG 'Best of Both Worlds, DS9 ''Trials and Tribble-ations' or VOY 'Scorpion'. So, obviously. I'm going with VOY.

The 'Ultimate Trek Star Trek's Greatest Moments Hosted By Jason Alexander December 1, 1999 UPN' I'm watching on Youtube still has the original ads. So many dot com bubble companies. A trailer for Galaxy Quest, that was a smart ad buy. Blockbuster gift cards.

Just seeing the Star Trek The Motion Picture happy meals and thought how funny it is they did that. Like this box is pretty much a refence to the most gruesome, body horror scene in all Trek. And the Motion Picture is now a kids flick. It's slow. And boring. But then I thought. Of course they made this happy meal. Before the movie came out, through the '70s. Trek was for kids. Despite being made for general audiences. Trek had become for kids. Reruns played in after-school timeslots. A Saturday morning cartoon. Comic books. And the reason the movie was getting made was in part due to the success of Star Wars. Obviously Mcdonalds saw all this and thought it would be a big kids movie. And the deal would've been made way ahead of anybody seeing the movie yet. And you think about it. It's impressive they pivoted so hard and didn't just make a kids movie.

yes he personally wants to end his existence and he believes it would be beneficial to the Q as a whole to allow this not only for him but for any of them. The Q feel this would be too disruptive a " change" and the Q being enteral and forever don't like anything that brings change, it works, I do hate to bring in current day shit, but its what Terry Pratchett did, he was a proponent of euthanasia and then he sadly started becoming senile and basically said no fuck you all I'm doing this its the dignified thing to do suck it, and then he suddenly died peacefully of completely natural causes at home with his family. Tvok also makes a good point in the episode that Q has so much to contribute why not at least let your mortal life span run its course. Its not an easy issue to think about or discuss and I think they did a fine job of it on Voy bringing that scifi twist to the question. Clearly it makes you upset thats not bad these big questions do not have easy answers and they shouldn't. Having said all this I am in favor of euthanasia in the case of either terminal illness and/or severe lack of quality of life and suffering due to disease or great age.

Nobody is going to promote a 50 year old astrophysicist to Captain. Riker saw that Picard as a sad old man who missed his shot at the captaincy. No matter how hard he tried and applied himself, he was never moving up the career ladder.

Again, Im not really talking about the point of euthenasia per say, but more the fact that he keeps framing it as a gift to others first, and his own personal choice second, when the evidence provided is the other way around. His own personal experience makes him want to do it first THEN allowing others to also follow suit if they want to second.

Its the order of operations that gets me, not the pro or con euthenasia bit. Just being honest that it comes from the personal experience first, rather than his last words framing it as a gift to others.

I just think it would be better if he said this is MY WAY and you can follow IF you like, rather than THIS IS MY GIFT TO YOU.

I found the actual topic itself interesting.

were you in LA or something? I was in a much cleaner and more wholesome place birthplace of so so many designer chems and party experiences but so so few degenerates like your experience.

You really are in your 40s man. Yes everything was sunshine and rainbows in your happy orgy town just 20 years ago. Free love! No one was taking advantage of anyone says the drug dealer chemical abuser.

I was in my 20s in the mid 00s and it was pretty great. The only STD I ever caught was the Clap, once, and it was totally my fault for fucking a girl that I knew was a skanky ass ho and doing it without a condom like a retard.

I always felt like I got off lucky.
This was BEFORE the opioid epidemic, for the record. Drugs pulled everything down and made people dodgier but by then I was already engaged and more or less settled with a woman that I thought wasn't a cheating whore.

no everyone was cool I kne a girl who made the est acid sreously top notch, another guy would make some major mda bickys that would blow your mind, of couse a ton of locally grown greenery etc, no-one was taking advantage of anyone, I do understand how you'd have that perception bout 7 or 8 to 10 years later but at the time no, it was a free for al no-one was interested in making money everyone was just having fun, and then the gangs moved in. But that really isn't a discussion for this thread or this board. Here I'll try and give you an example, "rave" party, I show up I threw my backpack into the pile of bags not a single person was concerned anyone would steal from anyone, if someone asked me for a bicky or some powder or greenery, i'd go to my bag and get it, they would hand over a few notes and that was that, at no point did I ever for one minute wonder if my bag would be stolen and no-one else did either. Sorry you missed out on that lad.

Zest. In that era, black men on the down low wore a pinky ring to signify to other black men that they were looking for homosexual encounters. Benny wearing the ring on his right pinky signalled that he was a bottom looking for tops. Wearing it on the other hand meant a top looking for bottoms, and wearing one on both hands signalled a versatile who could and would do both.
