>Don't see your widowed Mother for 30 years because the local cinema projectionist told you not to.

the based town schizo was my favorite part of the movie lol

It's a bit contrived but the sentimental ending always gets me.
>>
It was necessary if you are from a mundane town with no future. In the recent past, the only way to succeed was moving to a big city. He knew he had potential and didn't want him to squander it like he had witnessed others.

He couldn't drop by once a year for Christmas???
>>

He went overboard. He even shamefully admits it to his mother when he returns. Some people have no moderation skills.

Did you watch the theatrical version or the director's cut?
>>
>>214311270
I've never cried during a movie, but that ending got me close
>>

And in the director's cut the projectionist is revealed to be this machiavellian psycho pulling all the strings in Salvatore's life to turn him into the greatest filmmaker ever. Do you know those "IT WAS ME!" Reverse Flash memes? That's unironically the twist of the intended version of the movie. Understandably, Harvey thought it was silly and cut it for the international release.

> now I'm not saying that all projectionists are bad; I'm sure there are some good ones; but with a projectionist, you just don't know where you stand.
> there was that one who kept Houdini's magic ticket and sent some random kid into another dimension, then there was the one who got a guy up to her booth just to murder him

I have to rewatch it because I remember my conclusion was all we become morons as we age
I right about it

The directors cut is so fucking shit. Theatrical cut is one of the most movies ever made

I remember watching this in Italian class.

It's always hilarious when people find out about the original version. I had the exact same reaction -- it genuinely is like a completely different movie. One of the few times Big Bad Harv actually improved a movie.
>>
>guys jacking off together in the open in a well-lit cinema

Is it an Italian macho thing?
