>Legolas has mistaken me for this dickhead Saruman. It seems logical because Saruman also works as a Maia and in fact does the same exact thing I do. He also has a penchant for cloth robes and magical staffs. Saruman and I even go to the same barber, although I have a slightly better haircut.

Look at that subtle coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh my Eru, it's even still sharp

Why did he forget his name when talking to Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli? He had already met Merry and Pippin and they would've addressed him as Gandalf when they saw him

If Radaghast had showed up, they'd have completely dominated the forces of evil. If the blues had also showed up, it would have been completely over. Those four would just stroll right into Mordor.
>>
>>214324051
what are you talking about? radaghast was literally (unwillingly/unknowingly) allied with sauron and helping him. its where saruman got his spy birds that they hide from in the movie
>>
>>214324051
The Blue wizards were corrupted by Sauron.
>>
>>214324140
Very convenient. Sent down from Heaven with one mission: find Sauron's trinket and help the population of Middle Earth defeat him forever. Oh, let's just start believing Sauron's lies and fall under his sway!
>>
>>214324180
thats not canon. its never said for sure what happened to them. they may be dead or just doing basically nothing like radaghast or the most unlikely of all, actually helping the free peoples in some way

Legolas knows everything about his surroundings, can predict the future and detect things from miles away. This would be an impossibility.

In the book Radaghast at least shows some initiative and preemptively goes to warn Gandalf of nigger shit at the crossing near Maggot's farm. Radaghast is actually one of the first people to give Gandalf red flags as to how bad things are gonna get near the Shire. Fuck the films.

THAT IS BULLSHIT AND YOU KNOW IT.
Orcs are pathetically weak and only win when they outnumber the enemy 100 to 1. Yes, even the Uruk-Hai, that got mowed down by the Rohirrim.
Humans are real elite of Sauron's armies, these guys kept fighting even after Sauron fell while all the orcs cried like babies.
>>
>>214320563
so is the Council of Elrond the business card scene?

>Battle of the Morannon
>As Gollum celebrated, he fell with the ring into the Crack of Doom, destroying Sauron's power. The Nazgûl perished. Barad-dûr, the Black Gate and the Towers of the Teeth collapsed as their foundations were built with the power of the Ring. Sauron perished; his gigantic shadow formed in the sky and reached out in wrath, but was blown away and his spirit was left forever bodiless and impotent.
>The Orcs and other creatures of Sauron were left directionless with his demise, and were easily defeated by the Army of the West. Some killed themselves, while others fled. The proud Easterlings and Haradrim fought on bravely.

Why does ever adaptation build up the orcs to be some great menace when objectively they are not compared to all the humans loyal to Sauron?

idg why saruman's staff suddenly broke because gandalf willed it? Why did eru iluvatar suddenly decide that saruman wasn't worthy and not when he was siding with the dark lord and making monster men?

its the same in the movie and books retard. radaghast is just a fucking idiot and gets used. the first thing gandalf even did is fall into a trap so warnings didnt really matter

>>214324355
sarumans nigger army rolled over rohan and was so powerful they couldnt even face them on the battlefield. they were all well disciplined and armed/armored

The staff literally created a shield against the Balrog's attacks and broke the bridge to drop the Balrog back into the abyss. And it gave them light to find their way through Moria. You didn't pay attention at all.

>showing Saruman turn into Sharkey
Children's fairy tale tier writing. PJ was right to cut it. The shot of silent contemplation in the bar while all the other hobbits carouse does a much better job at showing you can never really return from war.

Oh ok so yeah an old man could beat it entirely independent of a magical staff, any old man. The staff is totally crucial to a wizard's magical ability then. Shut the FUCK UP

the staffs seem to let them do actual magic shit.

gandalf and the balrog didnt fight when the balrogs flames were out, it was running away from him trying to get outside so it could reignite or whatever and galdalf was just following it because if he killed it in the underdark he wouldnt know how to get out. once they both got out they fought and galdalf just used his magic sword and god strength to kill it (and then died from injuries himself)
>>
>>214325450
gandalf isnt an old man. hes a god
>>
I swear I remember the Balrog falling towards an underground lake and then in another scene it's lying dead on some snowy mountain plateau. Did the motherfuckers swim out then fight their way all the way up to a mountain peak?

Yes, they literally say that. He chased the Balrog up the Endless Stair to Durin's Tower
>>
I never liked in the movie how the Balrog's whip catches onto Gandalf's heel at the last second to drag him off. Then I reread Fellowship and that's exactly how it happens in the book
