I watched every episode as it aired and even I have trouble watching it now. It was disturbing how many normie scum kept playing it as background noise. There is something revolting when something becomes a zeitgeist piece of art like it. It almost ruins it. I can't enjoy Don't Stop Believin', Africa, or Mr. Brightside anymore.

The joke was never that Kevin got messy, it was that Kevin worked really hard on something, spilled it on a carpeted floor and had no idea what to do. His brain short circuited and he made a bunch of mistakes in his panic. The entire scene is extremely relatable observational commentary.
