Halfway through Survivor 41 right before jury started they ended the tribe phase but had everyone placed into two new tribes for only one episode, only they didn't call them new tribes because everyone would vote to eliminate someone. The two tribes would play in the episode's challenge and the winners would win immunity, which was normal.
Except one player wasn't picked for either tribe (I don't remember if it was a schoolyard pick or random draw) so she was sent to Exile Island to spend the day away from the rest of the players, which is really bad because she couldn't campaign to save herself and the vote was that same night. However after the challenge the host showed up on Exile Island and gave her a choice to "rewind time," either the challenge results would stay the same or she would swap the immunity results for everyone, meaning she and the losing tribe would be immune and the tribe that won would not be. The show played this up like a real dilemma to the point where it was a cliffhanger when in actually there was only one choice for her and a player that followed the rules as explained was eliminated for it.
