Gans is pretty passionate about SH and 2 was the movie he wanted to make. SH1 was the movie he settled on because it made more sense at the time, and now hes making the movie he had wanted to. Trailer looks too CGI heavy for me, taking away from the atmosphere, and the main actor doesn't really look like how James is supposed to.

The coal town with a bunch of witch hunters or whatever they were wasn't nearly as interesting. If nothing else, they should have kept the pterodactyls and other monsters, plus the freaky parasite infected nurses/doctors, instead of replacing them with Soilent Hill 2 shit.

Said it before - the only thing that saved this movie was its cinematographer and smart use of special effects with CGI used to enhance rather than to replace. The acting was awful except Cybil and the kid (and I hate saying that about Sean Bean) and the plot took a nosedive as soon as it explained shit.This sequel doesn't have the cinematographer and the CGI looks like dogshit. And its trying to adapt the most cerebral entry in the series. It'll suck ass.
