The Television Ghost from broadcast TV in 1931 to 1933. Host would be dressed (as pictured) and would tell the stories as if he were the person that died. Television wasn't recorded to how it was broadcast and the fact it was live. It may be mundane in today's standards, but I find it fascinating that people saw it live when tv first was a thing, must have seemed haunting for them. And from what be read the picture quality was already bad, so add in the content, just seems other worldly.

There are different recording modes for different qualities. A commercial move release would be in SP format and use up almost all the available tape in the cassette. Anyone who made a copy of a movie for rent in a mom and pop video store would have duplicated the tape in SP mode for maximum video quality. The only time you watched commercial movies or tv shows in long play or super long play was when you were trying to cram as many minutes of recording onto the tape as possible (which many people did).

Alright I've been looking for this one for a good long while. Decades really. Has it been that long? I suppose it has. Now ol' anon (at the right ancient age of 36) has a recollection. This memory is of a snuff film. The film itself was made in the 90s, late 90s. It was that small era of time between 98 and 99 when it seemed like the world was on the up and up, but the veil between this world and next seemed almost non-existent. Nothing really sets this snuff film apart. I do recall seeing an old iron stove, a rather old one, with tons of rust on it. Behind the old oven was a mildew caked old cheap wall paper, with a diamond in between parallel lines type pattern. IIf you're familiar with cheap wall paper, you know the generic designs. The parallel lines themselves had small branches that would curve off into a spiral. Granted, the video was in the horrible compressed camcorder styled footage, so exact details would be inconsistent at best.The video consisted of a woman's hand. It was an old one, some where in the neighborhood of 60-70 years. The hand reaches out, and a sturdy male hand pushes it back in, and slams the oven shut. The same hand reaches off screen to turn something. The video cuts out after a couple of minutes, but there is muffled screaming afterwards. The typical fare of someone screaming to be let out, as your imagination should be able to intuit. The camera was angled that it looked as though it was either positioned perfectly on a countertop that would be a little lower than the top of the oven, or was sitting on a tripod. I had seen this video sometime in 2002 to 2003 or so, on a clearweb site long lost to the sands of time. I think it was titled "Grannybitch" or something edgy like that.
