Should I finally watch this Trilogy? never seen before, the length of the movies puts me off
>>
>>214354069
watch the extended editions, pussy.
>>
>>214354069
Watch the theatrical cut
>>
I love LOTR, I'm 32, and I still haven't watched any Hobbit movie. Should I? Or is it better to stay in this blissful ignorance?
>>
How is it possible to not have seen lotr
>>
>>214355260
Some people read instead of watching dumbed down hollywood schlock.
>>
>>214354069
It won't after the first ten minutes.

>>214354566
Probably not.
>>
>>214354566
You may skip it.
First one is OK, second one has some entertaining scenes, but third one is absolutely retarded.
>>
>>214354566
you should give them a try... but they're messy. A lot of random CGI nonsense slapstick
the characters are good tho
>>
>>214355328
It's a masterpiece though. A must watch

They are absolute garbage and not worth your time. They're noisy, loud, stupid, and surprisingly boring.

Ask me how I know you're a midwit zoomer who never read a single sentence of Tolkien.

You've already been filtered, don't bother.

Tolkien is literature equivalent of Marvel. I like to read serious books that read like they've been made for thinking adults

I have read Tolkien including parts of HoMe and FotR is a masterpiece. Most of the changes are necessary for making the book into a movie, even as long as FotR.
>>
>>214354069
you might always wait another twenty fucking years
also you can try get the theatrical version which at least for the first movie it's what got succesfull and how people watched it back then
>>
>>214354069

I never understood complaining about long movies. There's nothing stopping you from stopping halfway to grab a snack and go for a walk or watching on two consequence nights.
>>
>>214354069
Just watch it, faggot. If you aren't drawn in within the first 15 minutes, then it isn't for you.
>>214354566
Peter Jackson Hobbit sucks. The animated movies were better.
>>
>>214355754
I only liked the two towers book, but Jackson dropped the ball by not adapting it to being the horror/suspense film it definitely was written as being. It's a Star Wars trilogy without an ESB (but I never saw the EE)

First one is alright mostly
Second has Smaug and Mirkwood, but drags on in certain scenes.
Third is absolute garbage. Only watch if you really like video game battle scenes

>>214356295
>Most of the changes are necessary
>its okay to make the story really fucking stupid and awful because... because they just had to in order to make it a movie!
If you cannot adapt a work with any faithfulness then don't make the movie. Write something else and go from there. I'm not gonna praise a steaming pile of fucking goyslop Jewish shit like the LOTR movies just because it has the name of a good book series. What a nasty little shill cunt you are.

Not my problem Raj.

Concession accepted. I hope deep down you feel at least a little shame for saying something so shameless. You're a fucking mess.

Watch the Rankin/Bass Hobbit. The Jackson trilogy sucks except for maybe the first one.

STFU nerd. The various Dracula adaptations all vary wildly, but they're all good movies.

>The various Dracula adaptations all vary wildly, but they're all good movies.
Because vampires is a whole category. There is a lot you can do with them. There's only one Lord of the Rings. Vampires have had various versions since antiquity so it offers a lot of creative freedom. When you are adapting a singular series of which there is only one I expect it to be a faithful adaptation. It's not like Jackson just said it's a movie kind of like the Lord of the Rings or inspired by it. He used the name and promise of it being a work very much like Tolkiens. Instead beyond some beautiful scenery due to it being shot in NZ, it was a boring, not faithful adaptation chock full of such Jewish nonsense I still have not finished a single one of those movies to completion. That was a fucking disgrace and I hope Jackson rots in hell.
>>
>>214358479
You know that Dracula is a book, right?
>>
>>214356895
Weren't there intermissions? I think even for the time it wasn't normal for the movies to be so long
>>
>>214355328
If a movie is too much for someone I doubt they have the attention span for books
>>

STFU, nerd. Go dry-hump your Tom Bombadil plushie.

You will never be one of us, Jeet.

there's probably a shorter fan edit.
>>
>>214354069

the animated one is great, or if you want live action watch The M4 Book Edit https://m4-studios.github.io/hobbitbookedit/

>Should I finally watch this Trilogy? never seen before, the length of the movies puts me off

Weird thing to complain about, since there's literally nothing worth watching during theses 2020's.
>>
Stick with the Theatrical cuts first. The extended are nice but lots of the scenes arent necessary given that the movies are built around action set pieces. It ruins the pace imo. There are also some shitty scenes where Jackson goes full retard. I would get the original blu rays before they changed the colours as well. I dont know if the 4k corrects that.

SAAR YOU CALLED BE RAJ SAAR THAT MEANS I WIN SAAR
>>
>>214354566
I think they're great, at least up to the third one. Just make sure you watch the theatrical versions and not the extended ones. The extra footage is terrible (including the worst placed Wilhelm's scream I've ever heard).

>>214358198
I mostly agree. Smaug and Mirkwood make the second one my favorite. I like the part in the third one where Bilbo takes the king's jewel, and then Thorin tries to throw him from the ramparts, but the rest of the movie just turns into noise and flashing lights after a while. Particularly the extended edition is headache inducing
