>shot in filmlmao why
>>214355922Makes the terrible cgi look slightly less terrible when it's obscured with a layer of film grain.
>>214355922Garth Edwards is such a disappointment.
>>214355922They made such a big fuss about this when promoting it, talking about how they honoured the original by shooting on film. But it has horribly unnatural colour grading and is in a different aspect ratio so it’s visually very removed
All of them were on film for some reason, so it might be some part of the pipeline they kept going, or something Spielberg set up as executive producer.
>>214355922so that they can say so
>>214355922gareth edwards' experience on the creator was so bad he swore off digital forever
>>214356141my experience on watching it was so bad i swore off gareth edwards forever
>>214356094>All of them were on filmlolno
>>214356094Movies 4-6 were a mix of film and digital
>>214355990I don't know why all films aren't given a layer of grain, as well as maybe some gate weave. it helps to make CGI blend in more
>>214356350All of them made use of film, at least. It's on the imdb.
>>214356003I had forgotten that was made by Edwards and Koepp. Literally how.
>>214356915Koepp has been pumping out non-stop crap for 20 years. Edwards made another terrible film? Say it ain't so.
>>214357035>posts Godzilla 14
>>214357035the creator is trash
>>214357172
>>214356003>Garth Edwards is such a disappointmentHe was never good. He has consistently made the most lifeless boring movies out of cinemas most exciting and thrilling franchises. He's just another CGI hack.
>>214357172Lol not even close. G2014 is legit terrible. He had every possible advantage and he blew it.
>>214357823That Monsters film was impressive given the budget.
>>214357823brainmelted gen-x fanboys had a soigasm over le rogue one BEST STAR WARS EVAR
>>214355990>makes the terrible cgi look slightly less terribleIf they'd actually used some animatronics on this film, they wouldn't have to worry so much about their terrible CGI.
>>214355922That's why it looked so pretty.Blacks are actual crunchy blacks and not some backlit red camera garbage
>>214357979There is nobody around that can still do that kind of stuff the way it was done with 1-3.
>>214357940>That Monsters film was impressive given the budget.I don't care how cheap his boring first movie was. None of the money he saved goes to me.
>>214358023>There is nobody around that can still do that kind of stuff the way it was done with 1-3.They used large scale animatronics on the previous Jurassic World films! CGI-bro Gareth just didn't have the patience for it. He'd rather film an empty plate and call it a day.
>>214358004it looks like shit
>>214357823this
>shot on film
this was way better than I expectedpros: >simple story, focus on the charactersit's what made the original great. you don't need to make everything have "world ending consequences" in order to make the movie engaging >no chris pratt>CGI looked greatlooked so good it probably wasn't made in india this timecons:>cast scar jo and have her show ZERO cleavage throughout the whole moviewhat were they thinking
>>214357979Yeah, instead of being able to see fluid motion you'd get 0.1 second snippets of the puppet shaking back and forth.
>>214357957all generations suckespecially yours
>>214358396>what were they thinkingfeminism
>>214358396It's shit but it's really not as bad as people say it is. It's not the worst in the franchise, I still think Fallen Kingdom and Dominion were worse.
>>214355922sloppa
>>214358311is this ai lmao
>>214355922Scarjo has hit the wall, they should stop putting her in films
>>214357035*a good movie
>>214355922Sht in film? What's that?
>>214358462>Yeah, instead of being able to see fluid motion you'd get 0.1 second snippets of the puppet shaking back and forth. When Spielberg was shooting animatronics you got long shots, with perspective shifts, interactive lighting, and all kinds of subtly that let you know the dinosaurs were real and actually there. And they had actual heft and weight to them; they didn't just bounce around like cartoons.Spielberg had actually blocked out so much of the original movie with animatronics that they didn't actually need CGI. They could've made it all work with editing.
>>214355922it's so people can use the frame filtering on their tvs and make it look like shit
Why cant anyone write likable characters anymore? I should be excited to see the river raft scene finally adapted but i dont give a shit about who is in danger. I mean even Crichton wasnt that good at character work and yet i was still invested.
>>214356141>>214356255>my experience on watching it was so bad i swore off gareth edwards foreverSame. It's the kind of sci-fi that was only going to work if it was smart and well written. Why was it so dumb.Maybe the right actors could have saved it. Never seen such a dull protagonist. A personality and charisma vacuum. Actors making boring choices all round.
>>214356043>But it has horribly unnatural colour grading and is in a different aspect ratio so it’s visually very removedTrue. Spielberg specifically chose the original aspect ratio because it's so much better for fitting dinosaurs in frame.
>>214362845By trying to appeal to the entire planet all at once they appeal to nobody.
>>214357035>>214357172I've said it before and I'll say it again: a two-hour movie is not automatically good because it has roughly 60 seconds of good content in it. The fact that you can post every good part of Godzilla 14 in under 10 webms is damning.
>>214358396Same, I liked all except scarjo
>>214355922I hate scarjo so goddamn much.
I never understand why Hollywood does this shit. Like I was watching the making of one of the Spider-Man movies, and they had people up on wires and shit, doing real stunts, but the entire set was green screen. That stunt is not going to read as real after 500 layers of CG has been added, you might as well have not even done it.It's like the directors think they're preserving a little bit of their soul by pretending they're making a real film. You're in the theme park ride business now, dumbfucks, you signed away your soul on the dotted line already.
>>214362845Only SJWs are allowed in Hollywood. The left can never create, only destroy.
>>214364920Truth.
>>214365354>I hate scarjo so goddamn much. She deserves it.
>>214357035>>214357172BasedWhich is the 1st?
>>214365507Mate when is the last time the right made a good movie? Only Gibson is there.
>>214365409it's very likely still too hard to get the CGI stunt actor to feel human. Games all use motion capturing after all. CGI artists are not capable of producing real human animations on their own.
>>214366799work on getting rid of whatever part of your personality compels you to try to explain things you don't actually have any knowledge about
>>214367037i can tell no one likes you IRL. why should he take advice from you?
this fucker's the size of a building
>>214355922I think the vague "people want less digital" gets through to hollywood execs but they just can't help but cut as many corners as possible with pajeet cgi sweatshops
>>214358396The movie is insulting. It is written under the belief that the audience is unthinking retards. If you came out of it praising the writing, then congratulations, it was written for you. But it's fucking baffling to anyone with consciousness. Even just the first 30 minutes is just a slew of nonsense>eating and littering in a high security clean room that demands helmeted suits>a blocked vent prevents high security door from closing>high security computer programmed to, in case a door cannot close, to immediately open all high security doors and schedule its own shutdown to remove any human ability to control the problem>previous movies establish dinos spread through Earth due to being superiors of their own era, plus the spliced genome from ours, assured dominance. This movie shrugs it away and says that after 30 years of dominance, the dinos collectively all realized they just can't live in modern Earth and died, which the writer says is because he couldn't fathom any other way of writing a dino movie.>the high tension moral debate to tag the whale in 2m before rescuing the boat VS go back 2h to rescue the boat and then tag the whale, neither of which introduces any real time delay or danger to argue about.>teen girl stumbles off boat from shoving CEO to the floor, blames CEO left stunned on the floor for not saving her (rest of cast supports teen girl for this)>when faced with AMPHIBIOUS spino threat, decide the only option is to crash their own boat into land, jump into spino waters, then slowly collect lost items at the spino shore (a scene that starts with shouting the amphibious warning)>ScarJo walks to the cable dino fence with large, human-sized gaps for people to walk through. Cuts the cables as everyone looks on in confusion. It's headache inducing the level of nonsense written into it. The amount of disdain the writers have for the audience is only matched by mine for the people who slurped it up. "Pros: Simple story." Get fucked.
I call bullshit. While I was watching it I couldn't help but notice how ugly it was. Maybe these retards have even lost the art of shooting in film now.
>>214355922the first jurassic park movie's cleverness of "well anphibian DNA can change sexes in extreme enviroments with no males" only gives proof to how much writing really matters.this movie was straight crap. with several problems beyond the script, and yes the script too.
>>214355922because film looks way better.Except those retards don't know how to make a movie anymore, therefore it still looks like shit film or not film
>>214355922Digital ages badly with ever-increasing resolutions.
>>214368679>can change sexes in extreme enviroments with no males"Let's face it, JP was troon propaganda from the start! With a side of even without males we'll find a way.
>>214355922both of this women died from vax right?
>>214355922They will keep making more of these as it is profit making.
>>214355922Based.
