>Production president Terry Semel wanted Tim Burton to direct the film, but executive producer Ernest Chambers rejected the idea and hired John Hughes as writer and producer, based on his work on the Home Alone films.

Imagine the Tim Burton version. Yikes.

fun fact I had this movie poster handing in my bedroom among others as a kid, and one day I was so bored I just stared at it and started repeating, pretty much chanting: "blink at me", "blink at me" cmon "blink at me" for half an hour, when it did in fact blinked at me. never felt so spooked in my life, I freaked and ran out the room, tried to talk to mum but she didn't believe me

What trashy ghetto do you live in when an elderly man beating a young child wouldn't result in immediate arrest?
>>
did walter matthau not want to let his hair gray naturally? he looks like some elderly boomer yuppie.

They dont want kids to know how capable they are.

>John Hughes releases this absolute kino
>next year Baby's Day Out ends his career forever
Think of what we missed out on, a run of late 90's kino from John Hughes....

>Nick Castle wrote the screenplays for the films Escape from New York and Hook.
Respect. I might get around to watching Major Payne one of these days.

I think it's a Warner Bros thing.
>>
parents said I was too young to see Jurassic Park, so they took me to see this instead
and I enjoyed it a ton. great choice on their part.

I wonder how they felt about the insenuendo that Dennis watched his parents wrestle naked.
>>

Drive ins are great if you've got a nice car. You can bring your own food, beer and weed and fuck your girlfriend in the back seat in between movies because they'd usually show two, the first one would be a more family friendly film and the second one would be for the grown ups.
>>
Lea Thompson was so hot in this

That was the mom?! I knew she was hot and crushed on her.

Yup. Even as a kid I remember wondering how the dork father landed such a smokeshow. I wish the average woman still looked good in and wore house dresses.
>>
>>214357848
